Just received a text saying that for staff training the surgery will be closed on a Thursday between 12.00 and 1.00. It will open again at 2.00. Surely this is wrong. If it doesn't open again till 2.00 it's not closed JUST between 12.00 and 1.00. ????

Wow didn't realise how useless the booking system is. Was on the hold cue for nearly an hour after phoning at 8 on the dot only to be told there is nothing. Added to the fact that there is apparently no other way for routine appointments to be made. It's an absolute joke of a system!

It seems impossible to get an appointment, I have made many attempts. One morning i was in a call queue of 1 hour 25 mins but still never managed to get an appointment. It appears this so called health centre only gives you the option to call in at 08.00 and if there are no appointments well that is just hard luck. I can't believe the deterioration of a a once great system. I have paid national insurance and taxes for over 40 years and never once have abused the system, but sadly it seems the system is abusing many of us. I suppose the practice management are still being paid their salary whether they manage to supply patients with appointments or not, so what is their incentive to cater for the demand and change? if their salary was performance related I think they would be poor chaps. I now have taken alternative measures and given up with this dreadful joke set up called Tayview Medical Practice masquerading as a Health Centre.(one star review is too much of a compliment for this place)

Can never get an appointment. Tried again today. Was 30th in the queue. Got to first. Then the line goes dead. Your out of luck. So if they're taking around 25 appointments a day. Poor

After having nightmares for months with prescriptions this has led to me missing my own dads funeral and makinng my health worse. I accept people make mistakes, we?re human. But 9 times in a row isn?t a mistake. This was after having a disagreement with the assistant practice manager, my husband had no issues until he had told her this wasn?t good enough & the way she spoke to me days after witnessing my dad die (I?m only 32) then all of a sudden each time his has been cancelled too! Due to calling from a business account all calls are automatically recorded so can prove that ignorant women who?s a liar. Due to claiming it?s abusive pointing out their short falls, how they?ve affected me & they deleted all complaints - they do know emails are recorded from both ends..due to their lies MPs, the media etc are now aware of the situation! Unfortunately we?ve lost 4 loved ones this year alone prematurely due to not getting apps, misdiagnosis, errors etc in other areas so I?m not taken this lightly. I hope they get better management and actually deal with their complaints but they?re too busy deleting them all as according to the practice manager there is no complaints deplste putting in a few & they don?t care at all all apart from the part where it affects them.! They have made that very clear over the past week. They have some of the best health care staff, It?s a shame the non medical staff & management are disgraceful. Advise for Elaine, if you speak down to someone days after parent loss. Having made a large data breach in September (the week before Elaine started on me), to rile me up & record it accusing me of abuse was always gonna turn sour. ESP since you then LIED again claiming you only knew about it in November when we both know I have emails which prove this hence why the article was written. The breach was acknowledged by your staff on 20/09/23 so it?s not the 7/11/23! And I can and I will prove that. If you had any common sense you would never have started on me days after making huge breach, especially to be horrible to me 3 days after telling you I just lost a parent & so uncompassionate. Unlike you, record keeping, building evidence & portfolios & proving dishonesty is something I'm exceptionally skilled at. Due to my forensic background. I don?t rudely snap ?well put in a complaint if you?re not happy? so I do & find out they?ve all been deleted. Deleting everyone?s complaints! Thankfully I?ve been moved to a much better practice with a great reputation! Couldn?t be more relieved as it?s concerning whats going on there. It really is.

My recent complaint about these Incompetent buffoons. I'm sure from the reviews many others have similar experiences. Two hours wasted with two incompetent staff because of THEIR mistakes!Hi David,My wife has many complaints in already regarding the surgery which haven't been replied to. My complaint is regarding the prescription service and the rude and incompetent staff that you have in reception. 9 weeks straight we've had to call in to sort out errors with our prescriptions. Every single week they are not done which leaves my wife unable to walk and dealing with medication withdrawals. On a recent hospital admission the neurologist was advised of this and was shocked at what you were doing there and how incompetent you are as a doctor's surgery. When you present this issue to the staff there is no help - ever. They want you off the phone as quickly as they can and can't help with anything. When their smarmy tones get you riled up they then start recording. Recording 'for their safety' when YOU are the ones making the disgusting clinical errors EVERY SINGLE WEEK! The doctors themselves at your surgery are fine - the reception staff are the most disgusting individuals I've ever had the misfortune to deal with and I hope they get some customer service training moving forward as they are in dire need of it. They clearly hate their jobs and the reviews online show they wind up the majority of your patients.Hopefully you read and take this feedback on board.RegardsIan

This has to be the worst surgery in terms of management and non medical staff. Not only is it impossible to get any type of appointment with a doctor the receptionists are beyond rude! Every phone call at 8am you are met with their unprofessional nasty tone. No help or advice given " try again tomorrow at 8am". I am able enough to write this review but I can only sadly imagine the number of people who put up with the receptionists and manager of this surgery who haven't or can't complain. I just hope that the someone can look into the system. The Broughty ferry one works perfectly and the reception staff are so helpful. What a big difference to Tayview.

As well as the difficulty in getting to see a doctor it's the general administration in this practice that is shockingly bad. Very inefficient, very difficult to get repeat prescriptions which should be straight forward, nobody seems to be able to give a straight answer to a simple question without discussing it with multiple other backroom staff and involving doctors over admin issues. Even then once a decision is eventually made you get conflicting information the next time you're in. Very frustrating.

Absolutely dreadful booking system, cannot access medical care for my son myself. Have been trying to book apts for over a month, keep being cut off as call queue is full then when I do eventually get through the message says all apts are booked.Have tried to register with another go practice only to be told they are not taking anyone from Tayview as they have been inundated with requests from Tayview patients.Asked to make a complaint, was told it has to be in writing, technological advances clearly haven?t made an impression on Tayview.

Always friendly staff.Doctors are lovely too

I'm sorry to post this because I've generally had a good experience with the doctors once I'm in. But the appointment booking system is so so bad, the worst I've ever encountered.Appointments are released for that day only at 8am, with a limited number of appointments for 2 and 7 days in advance being released at the same time.If you phone at 10am, there will likely be no appointments left and you'll be told to phone tomorrow at 8am (unless there's a cancellation, or you have an emergency). This morning I phoned at 8:09am. If the queue is full, you:'re told to try again. I tried "28 times* before I could get into the queue, in 15th place. By the time I eventually got to speak to someone at 8:40, appointments were gone (though I was offered a place a week away).I can't imagine an elderly or tech-averse person having to do this. It's just such a terrible booking system and an unnecessary frustration. There surely has to be a better way to do this that makes the volume of appointments manageable for staff but doesn't make patients stressed at best, or simply give up at worst. God forbid you need a doctor's appointment if you have children you need to get ready for school. The staff are friendly and good to deal with, but this system is not user-centred and is prohibitively awkward.

Having worked within the Gp surgery as a mental health nurse for a year, people of newport are so fortunate to have an amazing group of doctors and staff trying their best every day to support people. No system can ever be perfect but so much better here than at other GP practice's.

Presented with chest pains numbness tingling and tightening down my arm.also have asthma.. Also presented with mental health. And distress... And returned tablets that were misprescribed to me on Friday. Sent packing no check over. No temp no bp no obs..just a month's supply of sedatives. Also I've gone overtime for an urgent chest xray. Can't thank them enough. Gp are suppossed to help prevent illness. And well death in general I thought. ? Not these flying knights! I met Traffic wardens with more empathy ?

Outrageous booking system! It was one originally as it's hard to get through first thing in the morning and the only information you're getting is 'your call can't be taken atm', annoying when you're getting yourself and your child ready for work and school. Will bump up to 3 as the receptionist was very pleasant today.

I like to give credit where credit is due!I meant to leave a review after my last 5 star experience at the practice but didn?t get round to it, so I?m making sure I leave one after my experience today.Today I had to use the services of the practice again. I phoned at 8am, waited for 6 mins to speak to a very courteous receptionist who gave me an appointment for 1hour and 40mins later. I had a consultation with a pleasant, caring GP (Dr Gilmore) and 30mins later, I was back home and had my 1st dose of antibiotics (from Rolands Pharmacy). That?s a pretty good service I think!
