Very nice hotel but leaving this review as the dinner was very tasty but overpriced. My friend and I paid £30 for the 2 course meal and the difference between his roast dinner with all the trimmings versus my really small chicken with a tiny potato (my meal about 1/3 of what he had yet same price) was strange. All the staff very attentive but I was still hungry after the meal which isn?t ideal and we came out £90 lighter which was extortionate for what we had (canned Guinness is £6 a pop!!!) Probably how they pay for guests having sky in their rooms!

Great place for a casual meeting. Lots of comfortable seating around the lobby for coffee/drinks and can work away on a laptop with ease.Noteworthy details: Casual business meetings. Great moody atmosphere.

You need your own torch it's that dark in there. I understand mood lighting but I now know what life is like for stevie wonder. I got electrocuted by a light switch then the TV broke as in stayed on a gardening program and wouldn't even turn off, I'm all for the bush but it's not the kind of bush I like. Staff were helpful though when moving me into a different room, probably scared of a lawsuit for the tingling sensation in my left arm. Restaurant was closed for a refurb but plenty of grass around outside if you're a hungry vegan. For the same price I stayed in the Doubletree by Hilton in Cumbernauld the following week and that included breakfast and access to the spa and leisure facilities. Save your arm, have a TV that shows more than just Alan titchmarsh, enjoy a good meal on the night and breakfast in the morning and just go straight past it to the double tree!

I came to Edinburgh for the first time, and Dakota Hotel was the best place I could have chosen for my stay.Rooms were fabulously clean and the staff at the reception were very polite and welcoming. I can say I was definitely satisfied with the level of professionalism demonstrated by the staff.In terms of the Bar and Grill, it was even more amazing that the staff was so lovely and were very considerate of the customer?s enjoyment and hospitality.I want to give a special shout out to Samantha, at the Bar and Grill, for such a lovely customer service. She made sure I was always satisfied and made sure my order was correct, whilst being very professional and polite. You can tell she knows what she?s doing and knows how to work to satisfy customers!I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone coming to Oxford for the 1st time!Rooms: Clean and tidy, only thing missing is when you come out the shower, there?s no mat so water does get on the floor, and no toothpaste.Food & drinks: Top quality, very satisfied.

This hotel is nothing less than stunning. We really enjoyed a coffee infront of the fire after we arrived. Our dinner on the first night was the best meal we?ve ever had in a hotel. And Kevin who served us was excellent! My husband brought me here for my birthday weekend so that really made our stay. The hotel location isn?t amazing if you want to go into Edinburgh but we already knew this when we booked so we expected it. The only 2 things that didn?t live up to our expectations were the bed, it was incredibly firm (almost hard) and we both didn?t sleep very well the 2 nights we were there and secondly the hot breakfast wasn?t that great for the price. The pastries were lovely though. A nice touch that we got was the white company toiletries in the room, they smelt lovely, nice treat.

By far one of the best places we've stayed at. Had a 1 day trip to Scotland and chose this primarly due to proximity to airport. Worth the drive from EB. We took the upgrade option and weren't disappointed. Room was perfect, service ridiculously good.

Went for a one night stay to celebrate my wife's birthday with a few friends. Room was excellent food and drink excellent and so was the service. Had breakfast which was also delicious.

Great location for our purpose. Room was very comfortable and noise from other guests was minimal. We found it difficult to find a parking place when returning after 9pm. Possibily influenced by long stay Airport parking.

Comfortable hotel with ample free parking, and very accessible by road for connecting into Edinburgh, Glasgow, and across the central belt. Rooms are comfortable and modern, well equipped and clean.

I must say, very impressed with the standard, look and service of this hotel.Only thing that let in down for us was location in relation to where we was working. Which isn?t the hotels fault.The food (breakfast) was brilliant, coffee was superb and service staff were well presented and on point.Would highly recommend

I was treated to an overnight birthday stay WOW first class!! Location, room, staff and food excellent. I could not fault the beautiful room and it was such a nice gesture getting lovely complementary toileteries. We had an excellent dinner and breakfast the next morning. The hotel is so near the Parc and ride. The tram journey right into central Edinburgh only took 30 minutes. Free parking at hotel and tram an added bonus. I would highly recommend and I will definitely be back.

We stayed just the one night as we were meeting family the following day. From the outside it is very impressive. But the inside is amazing. So impressed. Its the most poshest hotel I have ever stayed in. The lady of reception greeted us and she was very friendly. Loved her tattoos. Especially the Highland Cow one. Checked us in as wished us a pleasant stay. We took the lift to the third floor. Very posh. Bed was very comfy. The only thing I didn't overly like was all the mirrors. Even in the bathroom at the side of the toilet. Didnt really enjoy sitting on the loo and watching myself do my business. They were everywhere. The room was air conditioned. What I did notice, unless I didn't look enough, was the lack of plug sockets. Very comfy and relaxing nights sleep. I have never seen such a giant bottle of a diffuser.

Amazing staff in the hotel and restaurant. This was the best hotel we stayed in on our 17-day trip. Best beds, best staff, best showers, great restaurant staff who were helpful and welcoming to us. It was not close to the city center but I can't really fault that. On top of all that, the price was not bad at all.Rooms: Lovely and comfortable beds!

The rooms were spoiled because they were so dark. Mood lighting is all very well but I would recommend that guests take a torch/flashlight. On the bright side the food was very good with generous portions and great service.
