The Dunvegan is a golfer's bar with countless historic photos of famous golfers inside all over the roof. You must visit if you appreciate the history of golf.

Don't think about stopping there, don't know about the hotel but the bar is just a tourist ripoff.Food is awefull; nachos in microwave, beef pie super, super salty, veggies were miserable. They don't even know how to pour a Guinness property.

Small pub with great bartenders and servers. Tons of photos of past PGA golfers on the wall and ceiling. Very good food and excellent service. We had a large group and the staff took good care of us.

Very busy but a buzzy atmosphere. Sat outside which was great and got to speak to lots of different people. Very golf vibe obvs with where its situated but not so much that a non golfer couldn't enjoy itNearby activities: St Andrews Old Course, West Sands

We did not stay at this hotel but just visited the pub. This pub just sits up from the famous St Andrews golf course. We were welcomed warmly by the staff and given a booth to sit in. We ordered and the drinks were brought over to us. The Deco was amazing. Staff and the owners have obviously had their photos taken with the various celebrities and golfers that have visited the pub. These pictures have been placed decoratively all over the walls and the ceiling. They made interesting viewing. I would highly recommend a visit to this pub.

I stay in Dundee and am a frequent visitor to St Andrews. I have never visited Dunvegan before but called today for some lunch. It?s always popular and I expected a good meal. Staff were nice and we quickly got seated. Our orders were taken but our meals took an age to be served. My Burger and chips was a pretty awful affair burnt chips, unappealing burger roll and a small salad. My partner?s was worse a mediocre, small salad, comprising lettuce, tomato, cucumber, four thin slices of apple, onion and croutons which was described as a Dunvegan Chef?s salad but which was not described further in the menu, technically it was salad but not the best example of any chef?s work and just lumped into a bowl?dreadful. Whilst I care little about Dunvegan, I do care about our Scottish image. The hotel occupied a prime site, they charge enough to provide more appetising meals and yet I felt embarrassed for our Country with so many Americans present that they are serving such poor fare. There are dozens of far better eateries further into the town than this place. If this is ever read by Dunvegan management please take this review in the way it is intended and please provide better fare to show our country in a better light.Further to the above, the place looks like a coat of paint is needed around door frames etc and thankfully posters and prints cover the walls and the toilets not great. By all means take a profit but take a breath and think about the decor once in a while.I?m happy to revise if management can honestly argue that I?ve been harsh !

We were kicked out during the third playoff hole for the PGA Canadian open. Disgrace of a world famous golf pub. I guess a 20 year old bar keep is running the show. Not worth visiting.

Visited here for a drink only, as heard it had a great atmosphere. We sat outside initially until it started to rain. What a disappointment inside , it wasn?t too busy which meant you could see the the place needs a freshen up and a good clean. The staff were unfriendly and looked bored, despite some tables needing cleared. Probably if it had been busy we wouldn?t have noticed any of this. We couldn?t wait to leave.

We've heard so many good things about this hotel. The food was good and OK priced but one of the staff was very rude and clearly didn't want to be there. Between trying to take our food order before giving us menus to banging down the tray with the condiments on our table and of the tables around us. When putting the cutlery down she put it down so hard it slid across the table hitting my wee ones hand, thankfully not injuring her. It's a shame really as the other girl serving was very polite and helpful. This hotel and bar is full of tourists, it's reputation is what keeps it busy. Its a shame this member of staff gives visitors this very poor service and let's it down for the other staff. Would I return? Probably because everyone deserves a second chance.

Ordered a cheeseburger, which came with chips and salad. Meat patty was made with sausage mince not beef, which was dry and utterly disgusting. Cheese was crisp and over cooked. Lettuce on the burger was the core and in the salad wilted and dying. Chips were dark and limp, which means they were cooked in old oil. Could only stomach a few mouthfuls before I had to throw it out. I told the staff I was on a time limit, after 15 minutes over the time I was told food would be out I had to ask for it to be changed to take away.
