The old building is fabulous, set in its own spacious grounds, in the centre of Shifnal. One of the hotels' greatest assets is a staff member with over 45 years service, who brings a unique quality to the overall experience. The location makes it ideal as a basis for visiting the local attractions.Nearby activities: The RAF museum is nearby as are very interesting open-air exhibits.

I stayed for a single night and the hotel unfortunately is generally old in appearance and could do with some long over due renovation and modernisation. The hotel has a strange and unfamiliar layout and it?s clear it?s tried to develop what?s it?s had but it?s made it?s rather dysfunctional in my opinion. This strange layout makes it hard to keep clean and it?s noticeable. The hotel wasn?t busy and there was no hot water for showers in all three of the rooms my party stayed in.The only thing hot in the hotel were the plates used for breakfast service where I suffered serious burns after touching one of them. The worst thing for me was that they didn?t have any HP sauce available for breakfast..!The staff were friendly and were doing the best they could do with what they have.

The hotel was not as advertised - I would not rate it more than a 3 star hotel. Corridors were scruffy, the breakfast room was probably the smallest I have experienced in any hotel. Breakfast choice was very limited. On the plus side our room was a 'cottage' on the edge of a large car park so we were able to park right by the door. The hotel was walking distance into Shifnal so we could find somewhere to eat - the hotel's own restaurant menu was poor. The worst thing of all - a Christmas Tree up in mid November ?Walkability: Not far into Shifnal centre

Booked a room for our works Xmas party. Room was ok but wouldn't say they had any special extras ...However at the party , Drinks were expensive.. Food was terrible . Their website states fresh local ingredients.. this was not true. Frozen prawns (no crayfish) with a drizzle of some kind of tastless sauce. Frozen sprouts.. Frozen roasties and no way was that fresh Sliced Turkey. Our company had booked 4 separate dates due to having 4 different shift patterns. Some people attended last week and showed photos of the meal and prices of drinks.. so alot of our team didn't even bother turning up.Rooms: Nothing specialFood & drinks: Expensive drinks.Frozen food warmed up

Here for my nieces wedding, I was born in this town the hotel is nice but the interiors are very tired needs a good paint up and general care otherwise the rooms were good and clean and very good facilities.

Had our Christmas work party there on Saturday night and I must say what a massive disappointment. For £40 I would of expected more on my plate than the small child portion I received. Service at the bar was also terrible, staff either completely ignored one half of the area or as happened to my husband they started pouring his drink then forgot and starting serving someone else. I sincerely hope we go somewhere else.Food & drinks: Expensive drinks and well overpriced food.

Only came for lunch with my Mum and Sister. Staff were pleasant when they were there. Tea was weak, no matter how long you nursed the tea bag. Hot choc was OK but not hot. In fact nothing was hot. All crockery was cold which didn't help. I wouldn't even give the food 1 star. Won't be wasting my very hard earned cash here again. The food was awful. We left nearly everything.

Stayed here whilst working nearby. Great hotel. Located in Shifnal, a quaint little town between Telford and Wolverhampton. The rooms were of a good standard, albeit one that I was in had quite uneven and creaky floorboards. Original windows which although in keeping with the age and styling of the building, aren't very effective at keeping out the nearby road noise and the church bells that chime every hour all through the night. The staff at the front desk and restaurant are a real asset to the place; so friendly and happy to help. Large car park and felt more than confident leaving a vehicle there overnight. My only gripe was that the automatic door at the main entrance was not working, meaning you had to prise it open and shut yourself each and every time you entered or left the hotel. There seemed to be no haste to fix this as by the end of my nearly month stay, it still hadn't been repaired.Walkability: Stonesthrow away from the town centre and local amenities.

We went along to a family wedding and stayed overnight. Wedding breakfast was lovely and nice venue. Plenty of parking, church in walking distance. Rooms need some refurbishing but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was self serve and very nice, the toaster actually worked which alot of hotels don't, bonus.

Having been invited to an awards dinner at the RAF museum I used Expedia to search for a hotel and this was top of the list. Unfortunately though who would know there are 2 RAF museums in the UK. Having put the hotel address into sat nav I subsequently found it is hundreds of miles from where I needed to be. I contacted both the hotel and expedia with each blaming the other as to why a refund could not be provided. In todays age I guess they are laughing Having received money for nothing. The mistake was realised within 10 mins so doubt any loss would have been realised by the hotel. In todays climate, with the cost of living, and having already paid to fly to the UK for the awards ceremony, this reflects poorly on the hotels sence of humanity. Regardless of policies you would think a sence of what is 'right'would prevail. Unfortunately not in this case. Purely on this experience of customer service I would strongly urge prospective patrons to avoid. As we never stayed I cannot advise on rooms. Service and location were rock solid zeros but unfortunately I could not leave 0 stars.
