We stayed in the Wrekin Lodge for a birthday break and it didn't disappoint. The lodge was immaculate, lovely and warm and greeted with a complimentary bottle of bubbly. Two big bedrooms, one we didn't use as we didn't need. The main bedroom had an en suite and a large separate bath. I found the shower tiny hough and very hard to move around in! The lodge itself is very well equipped, lovely and warm and plenty of everything you need to eat and drink with. We fished while we stayed and it was £7 for each rod and they expect for £5 deposit for the flag you get to show yoy have paid. There is two lakes to fish in, the larger one has smaller fish in, we caught about 9 beautiful fish. You will need your fishing license as this goes down on the system when you pay at reception. We didn't use the swimming pool this time, but it was available. We ate at the Croft restaurant on saturday nifht and it was superb. The steak and home made pie is a must and both delicious. Drinks are not too badly priced either. You can walk to the New Inn pub, takes about 15 minutes as I believe drinks are cheap in there, it's a typical dated pub. The hot tub at the back was what I wanted most of all, nice and big and very relaxing. Outdoor lighting isn't great though and we mentioned this during our stay. It isn't very private and there wasnt anywhere to hang your towels near the hot tub. You can have visitors over for an extra £10 each a day, and if they want to stay the night its an extra £50 each per night, abit naughty i think when you have paid for the lodge already. All in all, location, the people and the lodge was great. The front enterance to the wrekin lodge can get very slippery early in the morning as there wasnt an anti slip mat there, so be careful. They provide white slippers to wear around the lodge, as your own footwear isnt allowed. Lovely stay just abit rule mad!!!!** a huge thank you to the lovely couple we got talking to in the croft, they brought both me and my partner a birthday drink. We didnt get your names **Rooms: Review says it all.Food & drinks: Review says it all.

Stopped for Sunday lunch back in the summer when staying with friends on the site. Incredibly slow service, meat was dry and overcooked, potatoes clearly reheated, drinks were expensive. Wouldn't recommend or rush back.Food & drinks: Poor

Nice site with a fishing lake- the entrance road is tarmac single track with passing places but some corners are tight for very large RVs. The road itself is about a mile long so a good walk to the village shop. Swimming pool is extra £5. Nice restaurant but only one vegetarian option and that was cheese. £9 taxi ride into beautiful Shrewsbury

Absolutely brilliant. Fishing, fully service pitch, and a swimming pool.Lovely a la carte restaurant a walk away. Only one complaint, no area for dogs in the restaurant. So she has to sit in the car!!!! You can sit outside, with dogs but weather today is not suitable for that. Also no children. Great.

We had a good holiday but was more because of the company than the park. It is advertised as a " haven for walkers" but of the 4 paths that go through the camp only one was safely navigable and one was completely blocked off meaning we had a mile and a half walk to get to the bus stop up the road. The whole park has a kind of open prison feel i have never in my life seen so much barb wire it is on everything and there are no footpaths at all just roads so you are always having to jump on the mud to get out of the way of the cars. It is by far and away the noisiest park i have stayed at our lodge was by a main road and a train line so every 30 minutes or so the train would sound its horn as it went past long into the night. It is also on a working farm so there is a constant stream of farm traffic driving past Including a child racing around on a golf buggy type thing. Despite all this we were forbidden from playing music outside and using a hot tub after dusk, what is the point of a hot tub if you can't lay in it at night and look at the stars? With regards to the hot tub they lock the controls so you can't change the temperature or use all the jets i have stayed in over 20 lodges with hot tubs and i have never known anywhere else do this! There are meant to be two bars/restaurants on site that is what it said on Hoseasons when we booked it and what it still says now but The Bothy was not open the whole time we were there, we had one meal at the other place which was very nice but was a hundred quid for two of us and that was with drinking water. The lodge they had put us in was also right by a cesspit, there is nothing nicer on a holiday when having lunch outside than the overpowering smell of human waste as they empty the pit, three times this happened and they didn't even warn us first. The staff all seemed nice especially the cleaners, and the lodge was comfy, it could do with more cutlery and some glasses bigger than thimbles, it was a good shower and the oven and fridge worked. We chose this place as we dont drive and the line " a haven for walkers" grabbed our attention it is really not that but i think if you do drive and perhaps dont get the lodge we were in it would be a nice base just bring lots of money if you want to use the restaurant!

Just returned from a 3 night break at this stunning park. Pitches were spacious and well appointed and the lakeside location a true bonus. All facilities were spotless as was the entire site and the fishing was awesome. Staff really helpful this was our first visit but we will definitely be back.

Love this place, close to Shrewsbury, great facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool and fishing lake if you are booked in. The restaurant has limited opening hours but the food is fantastic and it's open the public.

Great adult only site. Stayed 3 days on a touring pitch by the pool. The site is very clean and tidy with a great indoor swimming pool too.Good mixed fishing pool stocked full of fish for the anglers ?Several restaurants & pubs close by too ?Food & drinks: The Croft is a lovely a la carte restaurant but book early as it does get busy.

We r here now , they require u to book 4 nights over bank holiday which it says on the website, then u arrive here to find your charged a extra £4 a night per pitch , which not stated on there website, to me u can?t have both ? , it?s a nice site up a long drive , 5 star , to me the toilets ain?t 5 star , dated , warm water not hot , £5 deposit for toilet key ? Y no one else will walk up that lane just for a pee ! £5 per visitor for half a day and not even used the toilet , but went to the on site restaurant and spent a lot of money because it?s not cheap ,, pitches r tight , just room for van and awning, car as to be put in front of your window.
