Lovely pub, good beer selection, small food menu, but done well and for a good price (all mains were £12 last time we went and the portion sizes aren't small). There's a snug bar area to the right as you walk in and the more foody area straight ahead. There's a beer garden on the roof as well for summer. Sunday lunch was great last time we went as well.

Lovely pub, off the main track so was quiet. Welcoming staff. Very dog friendly. Atmosphere was cosy and warm. Food was amazing (shepherd's pie, gammon and egg). We'll be back!

Best pub interior in Shrewsbury! Ales were poorly poured and did not taste as they should. Music was also playing from both vinyl and blasting out of loudspeakers at same time, pick one and stick with it!

Friendly. Welcoming. Decent food. Amazing mushy peas. Great value. Music was a little too loud. Will go again for certain. It is on a beautiful street in Shrewsbuty, on a curve. Feels like a local, but newcomers welcome.

Beautiful cosy and quirky, a really friendly barman, the food although limited due to new ownership was delicious and freshly cooked, we had fish and chips with crushed peas delicately flavoured with coriander mint garlic and a hint of chilli. The Beer was a choice of well kept local real ales. All round winner with us!

Please learn how to pour a pint of Guinness! Have been in twice now since it's reopened and on each occasion my Guinness has been poured in full without settling for a while before topping up. It's not difficult! Also no heating on, it was actually cold sat there, others were saying the same, and music TV on is probably not the atmosphere needed for a traditional pub.Such a shame this place doesn't have the warm, homely atmosphere it used to have.

Tried The Coach and Horses for Sunday Lunch. AWFUL!!!! No Menu, or Prices up for Dinner. Options on Sunday were Roast Beef or Roast Pork and when questioned for any other options we were offered a Nut Roast. We had Roast Beef and one Nut Roast. Beef was reheated and sinewy, the Nut Roast was tasteless and out a packet. All vegetable and meat were heated up in a frying pan to warm then served. We thought oh well different, but not enough vegetables were brought up to feed two let alone 4. We asked for extra which in fairness they did bring. Service was not great just ok. The bill was the biggest shock £20 a head!!! Disapointed as under new management and look to support locally

We?re do we start! £20 for a so called carvery! I always assumed a carvery is where you choose your meat and then help yourself to potatoes, vegetables stuffing etc! Apparently not, the very slow awkward service by the waitresses ( where we waited so long I actually got fed up and went to the bar!) they take your order for dinner. After my wife and daughter got cold waiting for dinner, as it was freezing in there, us being not only the ones cold, as the large table next to us, they kept their scalves on! When the food did arrive, the pork was warm, small portioned, as like the vegetable selection was. (No crackling either!) and we had to as for some pepper. As we and other tables only had salt! No condiments weee offered, we had to ask for them. We use the Inn On the Green in Radbrook for our local Sunday lunches, £10, loads of fresh hot vegetables and meat. As to say, we will not be going back there anytime soon, and as for the asking price£20, will not be encouraging anyone else who wants a great family Sunday lunch.

Received a friendly welcome following a recommendation for Sunday lunch. We sat in the bar area waiting for a table to be free, happy with the surroundings. However, lunch was served? we had three different meats between us - not one was edible. Pork was 90% fat, beef was too tuff to cut & the chunks of lamb consisted of fatty sinew. One potato per plate & cold undercooked vegetables on the side.We persevered with eating our lunch as other tables around us complained. When we tried to tell the head chef/manager we weren?t happy with the quality of food, he was happy to argue the food was good quality & we were only complaining as others around us had earlier. Not the most professional customer service!A meal was deducted from our billAs good will gesture.Such a shame really. We won?t return again due to the management?s attitude.

Staff very polite. Bar was cold, beer not quite right and wine £9 a large glass.Didn't stay any longer than necessary.Good potential but only one other customer.....not surprised.
