“After a negative experience previously in 2020 I was nervous to have my eye test again, but was very impressed with the staff today. They were all friendly, professional and helpful. I explained to a member of staff about my negative experience from last time and she was shocked, instantly reassured me and validated me. Unfortunately I didn't pick any new frames as I still felt self conscious to try on frames, and they didn't have many options in my price range.I also noticed whilst I was waiting that there's a large step by step guide on the wall to explain what will happen during your eye test, which I hugely appreciated as I get anxious I'm social situations and things like this help a lot.Negative experience in 2020 - When I was picking out my new frames I had found some in the mens section which I really liked. I prefer large frames that are quite square, and I don't really like thin metal frames. However, the lady who was helping me kept telling me I was looking at the mens glasses. I told her I was aware, and showed her the ones I liked. She kept trying to redirect me to the women's. I explained that I had already looked at them, but I really liked this certain pair from the mens. She told me that they do not have a style similar in the women's, then made me sit down while SHE chose some frames for me. She asked what colours I liked, I said black. She came back with thin, metal frames that were a light pink colour, they were also quite small and rounded. I didn't want to say that I didn't like them because she made me feel uncomfortable and silly for looking at glasses that were in the mens section. I agreed to have them just to get out of the shop.”
