“Had a gorgeous Sunday lunch at the Lion + Pheasant recently with a friend. We wanted to eat around 5pm, but the kitchen closes between 4pm-6pm, so we popped somewhere else for a drink and headed back at 6pm. We assumed this would mean the Sunday lunch would be over…but we were happily wrong!!Food was so good, service was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxed and cosy.We opted for a starter and main course, everything was priced individually and a bottle of red wine to share. For starter we both had pork belly @ £9 - sorry, no photo as I forgot.I had beef, I was asked if I wanted it rare or well done, which was £22 and my friend had the Lamb, £23. We added an extra side of cauliflower cheese, £3.50. Everything else you can see came with the main courses which included some kind of delicious horseradish mash - yum.A bottle of Rioja, £36.Total + added 10% service charge = £112.75.We shall definitely be back! Thanks for a wonderful evening.”

“Easy to park. Receptionist was lovely. Bed was comfy. Lots of room to spread out. Would defo recommend and stay again. Note pub and grill next door only takes bookings. Even if it appears empty and has no reserved things on the empty tables. Very disappointed - had to go to Burger King.”

“Perfect location and service from the staff. Travelodge rooms are, by today's standards, very basic. We appreciate that every costs are spiralling, but a heated towel rail used to be standard equipment.”

“I stayed in a Premier Plus room here, for the first time. It was well worth the small extra charge compared to a standard room. Everything in the room was well designed, using top quality materials and the extra features, such as the refrigerator, ironing board, rainforest shower, coffee machine etc. made a big difference. It was like staying in a very good 4-star hotel, at a fraction of the price. In addition, the welcome at check-in was friendly and efficient.”

“Place is full of Character, room was ok but little dated, staff are friendly and it has very good location as it is couple of minutes walking to town centre, breakfast was good and room service was quick enough. Can be little noisy in early mornings cause of the traffic and the rubbish trucks if your room is on the main road.”
