I visited Tuesday morning and had an hour to get the help needed which I thought would be plenty of time - how wrong was I?! Firstly, I went to the counter to be told I needed to take a seat and wait for an advisor. When a different lady arrived there was some confusion over whether I was on the waiting list or not. Once this was sorted I enquired about waiting times explaining i only had an hour to be told i was next - after waiting for nearly an hour it was obvious I wasn't next. Unfortunately I had to leave as I had other commitments. I cancelled my lunch plans to return as I needed the issue sorted (my account had been blocked) on returning yet again I was asked to take a seat and wait which I agreed to do if it wasn't another hour! It was the same lady I spoke to in the morning. Within 10 minutes she'd put me on the phone to someone and verified my id when I asked why that couldn't have happened when I first went in she told me they were just far too busy and I'm had 1 staff on! That isn't my concern I expected better customer service than this and perhaps if they have a staffing issue Halifax need to look into it and get it sorted. I also requested the details for the manager a few times so I could feedback and my request was evaded hence the the review on here instead.

Dreadful intransigent bank. Obnoxious cashier. Refused our BACS transfer from our current account funds to a reputable and long-standing Blackpool bullion dealer (Chard's). Halifax claimed the transfer, despite being backed by lots of personal ID, was "potentially fraudulent". We figure this was simply bluff, to halt the flight of capital out of this bankrupt bank.Halifax is part of Lloyds Banking Group which has an ongoing "liquidity crisis". Nothing in the kitty. Refusing to cough up cash for customers trying to withdraw more than a couple thousand quid.This could be one of the first banks to collapse when the economy starts to crumble dramatically in the 2021 new year.Halifax is at massive risk of a slump in the UK housing market. Most exposed of any UK bank to plunging property prices, negative equity and widespread mortgage defaulting.Quite possibly Halifax will fail again. As it has done twice before in 2008 and 2013.But this time, the government has said it will not be bailing out the Halifax any more.This time if it blows, the Halifax will take depositors' funds down with it. Beware!
