Great lodges, though the ones towards the centre are a bit on top of each other, with very little parking! Generally quiet and the onside facilities are great. Good location by Chedder, walkable, so that's a bonus. Recommend you ask for a lodges going up the hill, they look amazing!

Highly disappointed with our recent stay. Stayed here before and loved it so thought we would pay the £500 for a 4 night stay for my mums birthday. The lodge- couldn't use hot tub for the first night as it hadn't been filled until late afternoon. The oven doesn't work properly. Toilets are hard to flush (faulty buttons). Floor is filthy (stained carpet and floor hasn't been mopped so dirty). Half of the wallpaper in the bedroom had either been torn or completely ripped off. The heating was a bit iffy.We tried to speak to someone about this but no manager available until Thursday. The maintenance team were meant to come round about oven but we never saw anyone.Don't expect to get much use of the pool. Available for adults only between 9+9.30am then everyone until 1. Then between 2 and 4. But this changes. In the afternoon school kids come in for swimming lessons (so can't use) and then in Thursday mornings the pool is also closed for swimming lessons! Changing rooms and showers are a bit grubby compared to a year ago.We don't like to complain and these may not seem like big deals. But when you pay over £500 for a 4 night week day stay (although basically 3 days use as in at 4pm and out by 10am) and don't have access to the facilities all of the time, it's disappointing. I know we had a dog friendly lodge but there was no excuse for dirty floors and non working ovens! Not a relaxing or 'luxurious' retreat as expected. Unfortunately we won't be coming here again as far too expensive for the current state of facilities.

Beautiful location and so close to the gorge. Accommodation is clean and fully equipped. Nice, little swimming pool.

Great accommodation, views are amazing if you're high up on the hill (can see Glastonbury Tor on a clear day). Bar and restaurant are very nice.

Nope. Not great. Pool advertised as 9:00 - 17:00 but it?s always rented out for private lessons. The timetable keeps changing without notice, and the staff are quite rude about this when you point out the times advertised. Indignant and unapologetic. If we?d have known we?d have picked a different place to stay.Restaurant only serving pizza for some reason and the icecreams advertised in waffle cone, but served in cheap and nasty cones. The accommodation is pretty good, but there?s bits of mop all over the floors.Overall, too many people. Not enough time allowed to swim in the pool. All activities sold out before arrival. Three people at reception. All look up and carry on with what they?re doing. Not one a available to answer a question.

Loved the location. Perfect for days out to the nearby cities of Wells, Bristol, Bath, Chew Valley Lake and of course Cheddar Gorge. There is also a nice walk along the old train line, called the Strawberry Line. The restaurant has a good selection of nice reasonably priced food and the swimming pool and gym are excellent. Would definitely stay again.

We (2 adults and a 9 year old) just spent a long weekend here. It was fantastic, clean new lodges, brilliant location for Cheddar and great facilities. The best part however was the Go Active staff who made the holiday really special for my daughter (and us).

Surprise weekend, Friday night to Monday morning, stay arranged as a birthday surprise. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children in a 4 bedroom lodge one with an ensuite shower/toilet and a family bathroom.Initially, all looked nice. Had a dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, plenty of china & glassware. If we had been the party of 8, which was initially the plan, the dining area would have been a bit cramped, as would the lounge seating.Closer inspection showed several areas needing maintenance. A screw on the corner if one of the double beds did cause an injury. We did use the swimming pool, which was nice. The "arcade " games were all £1 a go or per person, which I thought expensive. Only 2 of us did one of the activities, as only 2 spaces left. But to be honest the timings of most of them didn't really suit our plans. On-site shop was very limited and expensive, but they usually are at these sort of places.Very close to Cheddar with it's Caves, gorge and local shops and eateries.Blind in one bedroom would not stay up in a corner. Held in place by velcro. Various skirting board areas looking tired/scruff.Screw in bed base.Scruffy areas, either side of the cooker/hob, are not very hygienic for a food area.Rooms: Blind in one bedroom would not stay up in a corner. Held in place by velcro. Various skirting board areas looking tired/scruff throughout the lodge.Screw in bed base.Scruffy areas, either side of the cooker/hob, are not very hygienic for a food area.Nearby activities: Very close to Cheddar with it's Caves, gorge and local shops and eateries.

Stayed here a number of times. This time we opted for one of the more expensive ones. Each occasion the hygiene is questionable.Stains on curtains, sofas, sticky finger on door frames etc.Has a really dirty feel to it.TV in bathroom not working.Kitchen plinth broken off.Several reminders around the lodge from the last person's stay.Phoned through to reception not very helpful, quite dismissive. Will be uploading photos on social media and anywhere else I can.UPDATEI have filled one of these in already.I phoned reception yesterday.I can only presume his shift finished at 5.30pm because he hung up on me, when I called back straight to answer phone.

Had another great stay here. The lodge was great, hot tub was perfect. The bar and restaurant is lovely and relaxing with ahuge selection of drinks and the food is good too. Lots of activities for the kids snd family. The kids did rifle shooting today as the climbing wall was closed due to high winds. The instructor was really good and allowed us to swap activity with no extra charge and they had a great time. The pool has been a hit with the kids too and they love the pool parties where the fill the pool with loads of inflatables and have music on. Love it here and we will be back!!

The site was nice and clean the accommodation was excellent on first entry but after a couple of days you could start to see it was showing its age, the food that we had in the restaurant was really good staff were polite and happy to
