I took my wife there for lunch today. We ordered gammon (sorry we don?t have any) steak (sorry we didn?t have any) lasagne (sorry we don?t have any). What a shambles. We gave up and left.

Had an absolutely brilliant Roast Dinner with a group of friends... I haven't had a roast since xmas and it was just amazing. Mushroom Wellington was delicious as were the roast potatoes and yorkshires. Would highly recommend and book a table to make sure you get a spot.Really great staff and obviously a great Chef

The staff were very welcoming and helpful, food good but the pub was soulless, tv's on every wall playing sports. Everywhere was cold, we ate lunch with our coats on.

Ahhh I hate being negative so I'm writing this as nicely as possible. Leading up to my trip to cheddar I read a lot about how good the food was here especially the Sunday roast so I booked for a Sunday roast.Food took what felt like a lifetime to arrive (there was 10 people in the bar area so wouldnt class that as busy) then food finally arrived and ahhh I can only describe the turkey I ordered as a boil in a bag job. It was bland and soggy. The mash potato was powdered (not an issue) until my wife took one bite into it and it was still powder on the inside. The roast potatoes (real potatoes this time) I don't know how you can get a roast potato wrong but it didn't taste like potato. My wife had the beef and that was stringy and dry and very hard to chew.My money is on that most of it was microwaved I'm not the fussiest of eaters but I left it after a couple of bitesStaff didn't come and check if everything was ok and was no where to be seen so couldn't even say this to their facesTalking of staff I was sat probably 10 metres from the kitchen DOORS these were shut but the language coming from there at the volume it was being said I don't think is right in a family pub especially as there was 3-4 children sitting nearbyGood points the young lady who brought the food over was lovely so credit where its due to her.

Popped in for a pint and snack on a lunchtime in February. It wasn't busy but it took me a while to catch the eye of the bar staff who were chatting. Good selection of drinks and the food looked ok. When I enquired about gluten free we were given a complicated allergy folder and couldn't find much so we went for the sharing nachos as the chips weren't cooked in their own fryer and could be gluten contaminated. There are two bars and a restaurant with big screens showing sport plus music. There are better relaxed pubs in Cheddar but it's ok if you like that style.

Staying at a nearby holiday centre. Booked a meal for 4 adults and 2 children. Advised they had a large party arriving at 7pm and come before them or would have a long wait for our food. They didn't advise that there was a rugby game being shown life. As not rugby fans, we were not aware of it.The bar was very loud, and the game watchers had spilt into the "restaurant," and some were sitting at our reserved table and not happy about moving. Also, there are not enough chairs in place around the table.Had to go looking for a children's menu and share 2 food and 1 drinks menus. Not impressed bearing in mind we had booked in advance, as a party of 6.One meal was not as ordered, missing pepper sauce, and told to go to the bar and pay for it. As they did not give a receipt for the meals ordered, I can't be sure if it was actually ordered.Food mediocre, as was the service. Once food and drinks were brought to the table, we never had any further interaction with any staff.Parking: Very small car park attached to the pub, most of it inaccessible due to scaffolding. Had to use public Pay & Display next door, but free from 6pm. There were plenty of spaces there.Wheelchair accessibility: Certainly, the main entrance is NOT wheelchair accessible. Very narrow doorway and steps into the bar. Also, a step into the restaurant. Don't know if there are any other entrances.

First time in this pub, even though we regularly visit cheddar. Lovely food. Shame we didn't have real chips

Popped in to watch the rugby. Busy pub, seemed popular.

Had the lunch choice for £5, very good value, cheery staff. Dropped a star as the heating was broken and it was very cold; perhaps a plug in heater could have been found?
