Met by a sour faced teenage girl who showed us to our table. Ordered food and drinks from another member of staff. Brought two dirty glasses, so politely asked for one replacement and brought another dirty glass, asked for another one, and was given another one even dirtier with food on it and fingerprints. Asked for two straws instead..Food arrived, and the fish fingers were not fish fingers but battered nugget things. All the staff were young kids stood about chatting. Shame as the cafe was a nice little place, and I'm sure that on a different day with different staff (or someone keeping an eye on what's going on), it would hopefully be different.

Came here on a bike ride as a group of 3, we parked our bikes behind the cafe which was good. Waitresses were friendly and helpful and we had nice food and drinks (I had bacon and egg sandwiches and hash browns). Service was quick and it was very good value. This is my new favourite cafe in Cheddar!

Went in today with a group, asked the brown haired waitress behind the counter how long the wait for food was, she checked with the kitchen and said 20 minutes maximum. I had a quick look to make sure there were enough tables for us, which there were, so I called the rest of the group in from outside. In the meantime a different waitress with long black hair asked my friend how many of us there were and my friend said 14, at which point (without even looking) the waitress said ?we ain?t got 14.?I politely said that I?d already checked and there were enough seats and we didn?t all need to be at the same one table, at which point she scowled and marched behind the counter to the till and turned her back on us. We all just stood there feeling really awkward, not knowing what was going on, so I apologised and said ?I?m sorry, I feel like I?ve upset you??She kinda whipped her head around and snapped ?no it?s fine? and then turned back to the till. Again we all just stood there feeling extremely awkward, and then the original staff member with the lighter brown hair (who was very friendly and polite) showed us through to the tables.Black haired rude waitress followed her through and told us all that the wait for food was 45 minutes? despite the fact we?d just been told by the kitchen that it was only 20 minutes maximum? We sat down and waited for someone to come take our order but everyone felt so uncomfortable with the rude behaviour of the waitress that half our group just left and went to the chip shop next door, so the cafe lost out on a lot of money. The rest of us stayed because it was one of our group?s birthdays and we?d planned to order some cake and asked the staff to put a candle in it so we could sing happy birthday to him (which we ended up deciding not to do because we were made to feel so unwelcome and uncomfortable). We ordered pasties and vegan pasties which we were then told there were none of, so we had to switch our orders.Food was ok, but would absolutely never return, due to the disgusting behaviour of the black haired waitress, who remained rude and unfriendly when she took our orders and brought out the food and scowled throughout.Genuinely shocked about how badly we were treated by her. The lighter browned haired waitress was very lovely, smiley, and polite.

Looked good and was cozy on a freezing day, we ordered off the menu a ??proper?? Cornish pastie with a side of chips & a strawberry thick shake also a ?proper? sausage roll with a side of chips & a chocolate thick shake, sadly the pastie was more like a shop bought and the sausage roll was absolutely atrocious it had never seen a sausage not worth it.

Popped in here for breakfast on a cold weekday morning -5 ? To a lovely warm welcome. Really nice place to eat and alot bigger than it looks from outside. Nice to eat somewhere where you actually felt welcome and not a inconvenience to staff for walking in. Definitely will be visiting again good lil find ?

Friendly staff. Although two coffees and pasties ending up costing us £27, I know inflation is hard hitting at the moment but this is a bit

Myself and my partner wanted a lunch out as it was our first time visiting cheddar. We took a menu to look at the lunch selection, but didn?t feel it was what we wanted. We settled on wanting a coffee as an alternative. When going up to order our coffees, before I had even gotten a chance to speak, I was told by a staff member to sit down and someone would be with me (in a very abrupt manner). I waited 10 minutes and in that space saw 5 people served and spoken to kindly. I left the cafe and did not order as I felt the way I was spoken to was very rude and out of order for a cafe.

We popped in about 2pm for some afternoon tea. We were sat opposite the kitchen on a sofa with a coffee table, but we did agree to this on the way in as there was no other seating. After being given menus, we settled on afternoon tea for 2 at a cost of £28. Our server told us she?d grab a menu for afternoon tea so we knew our options but she never did, she just started reeling sandwich/cake options off the top of her head. We put in our order and waited. Please be advised that if you?re offered this sofa, you do not want to sit there!! We had a line of waitresses opposite us, who were staring around the room who we locked eyes with several times and this made us feel really uncomfortable. From this particular seat you can also see straight into the kitchen where we witnessed a waitress with super long acrylic nails adding salad to plates after touching her note book and pen etc. she didn?t appear to wash her hands afterwards. Food then arrives, and at this point we?re quite put off. The tea arrived 15 mins after ordering along with the food, so was incredibly stewed. Sandwiches were fine (they got the bread mixed up but hey ho). We took our scones and cakes home as we didn?t feel comfortable. Scones were delicious however cakes didn?t taste overly fresh out, raspberry Bakewell quite dry. We asked for some takeaway boxes, and the bill and sat and waited patiently. In the end we were charged £36 when the menu price states £28! £36 to take half of it home, some stewed tea and the most uncomfortable experience?! Absolutely not. I decided I wanted to try this cafe as I?ve tried most of the rest up the gorge however I would definitely swing towards the lion rock next time! Gutted we didn?t just pop in there instead.

Can't fault it. Lovely grub. Just what we needed after a three mile stroll around the cliff tops. Lovely staff. Decent price point.Vegetarian options: Great egg mayo. Veggie sausages on the menu.

Fancied a toasted sandwich for lunch during our lovely little trip to the beautiful cheddar gorge, liked the look of the menu and so decided to pop in and as the sun was shining picked an outside table near a pond.Went in and ordered our food, we didnt wait long and all our food arrived and was absolutley delicious! We had 2 toasted sandwiches, they came with a salad with a yummy dressing and some tortilla chips. My son had a nutella sandwich.Couldn't fault the place, staff were warm and welcoming and indoors looked great had the weather turned. The cakes on display at the counter looked scrummy but we were too full from our lunch.Highly recommend!

25 minute wait for a ploughman's and a toastie. There was no egg on the ploughman's, no explanation as to why it wasn't there and no-one came to see how the food was. I had to go to the kitchen to ask for the egg but was told I would have to wait another 10 minutes, still charged full price and no
