“I went to Santander in Taunton to open a child savings account for my newborn son and was told I'd have to book an appointment in mid December and there were no earlier appointments! As I did not want to wait that long, I decided to try Yorkshire Building Society as I was walking past to see what accounts they offered. Have to say I was massively impressed and glad I went in! Despite not having an appointment, I was told I could be squeezed in and within 15 minutes my sons account was open. The staff member who assisted with the opening of the account was friendly, courteous and extremely helpful.Once open I then proceeded to pay some money into the account at the cash desk and the staff behind the desk were also excellent. Again, very friendly, helpful, very obliging and chatty asking me about my son. Even the store manager who was at the front of the bank also checked in with me while I was being served to see if I had all the help I needed. He was extremely friendly and charismatic!Safe to say I've not experienced this level of customer serivice in a while, but I would seriously consider relocating my other accounts to Yorkshire Building Socicity based on todays experience today! ? ? ? ? ?”
