Upon stumbling across the Trotter 12 months or so ago it's become our regular haunt where diverse conversation and step back in time surroundings make it a unique place to visit. The friendly locals, owners and staff add to the experience, as do the lovable dogs.

This is a beautiful country pub with a wonderful interior with a piano, animals & loads of memorabilia. Visited whilst on a country pub crawl with a friend but unfortunately, I got strangled on the way out by a local who suspected I was a scammer due to disclosing the nature of my work. Whilst it is their right to defend their pub and the nature of people these days, but I sadly cannot recommend visiting it if you're not local, sorry. This place is simply just better off being closed down to the public and kept as a house. Ruined a wonderful day outUpdate: didn't realize there was a fox hunting incident recently. Whilst I don't morally agree with it, I cannot tell people what to do, as it their pub and i had no idea until just now. No I didn't visit due to the fox hunting

Love this place good old fashioned pub! no food, and cash only. It makes you feel at home landlord and regulars friendly and cheerful.

A proper pub, serving proper cider and ale with an open fire. Where the proper characters with their eccentric dogs welcome you with a smile! If you're after music, TV's, people welded to their mobile phones whilst ignoring each other?.....Wedmore is a mile down the road and there are several other drinking establishments ready for your money ? On the money front though, the Trotter is cash only, make sure you take enough, and I don't mean their prices though, which are extremely reasonable, I mean that it's quite difficult to leave the pub without having another quick 'half' by the fire!

Loved this place, it is what it is. Not trying to be anything it's not. Exactly what a country pub should be, well done for keeping it real, rustic and unique. You won't appeal to everyone but don't change.

Step back in time when you enter the Trotter. It really is a gem. It's unchanged in perhaps a hundred years. Don't expect food though, this is a traditional drinking pub, haunt of locals and farmers. Its quiet and beautiful, take time out of a visit to cheddar to see it.

Lovely old pub and the landlord and lady are so friendly. Cash only, so take you pennies. No food on sale, but the cider and beer more than make up for that. Beautiful 'cottage garden' inspired beer garden too. Only here for a week, but have decided it's our Somerset local. ?
