“We felt welcome the minute we arrived. We had 3 comfy nights and enjoyed the food so much we didn't end up eating anywhere else in the evenings. It's an ideal base to explore the surrounding area (and of course the caves). Certainly a bit different to the chain hotel offerings but in a very good way.”

“Great hotel within short walking distance of Wells centre. Clean, friendly staff and easy parking (albeit extra charge). Definitely would recommend if looking for a stopover in Wells. Premier plus room was large with view towards the city centre.”

“We popped into a neighbouring establishment looking for a table for two. Four or five staff walked passed us in the empty reception, admittedly they were carrying food but even an acknowledgement 'We'll be with you in a minute' would have been appreciated.Completely different experience to The Swan where we were acknowledged and seated straight away with a carafe of tap water provided whilst we looked at the menu.Service was attentive, but not intrusive throughout. Background music was just that, in the background and not intrusive either, allowing a decent conversation. All in all a wonderfully relaxing and lunchtime experience.Food & drinks: Sharing platter (3 starters) was extremely tasty and served with a dressed salad.Main course was the pork which was beautifully tender, I even ate the crackling which I don't normally do.All the food was delicious, cooked to perfection, and seasoned beautifully.Thoroughly recommended.”
