Went for Sunday lunch everything cooked to perfection. Perfectly presented and value for money . Just had an issue with bill but was sorted quickly and professionally. Went to the fox and hounds at newmillerdam previously and this Sunday lunch beats it . We'll worth a visit

Food not up to standard of what we paid for (£75 per head for Christmas dinner) - turkey pink and items missing from menu. Was one of the first tables seated and was told we couldn't have coffees as no milk. After hardly eating anything got charged extra for 2 fruit shoots for the kids! Won't be going back.

I went to the Milton last night, for the first time in a long time, knowing the place was under new management. I ordered a drink and after a few sips I came to the conclusion that the syrup for the lemonade was gone, working in pubs myself I knew this was the case, a waitress (short girl lovely long hair) came into the room I was sat at and I brought it up to her. She took the drink and said she would rectify it. Then she came back a few moments later and said that the General Manager said he wouldn?t ?renew? the drink and that I had to buy a completely new one. Not ideal considering it?s not my duty to make sure the lemonade and other postmix syrups are functioning. Anyway we got another drink and moved tables. The room we entered was cluttered with cups, glasses, wrappers and all sorts of other mess on quite a lot of tables. Another waitress then was wandering around clearing up and she missed a wrapper hidden behind a menu, so i mentioned it thinking I was being helpful, being a server I thought this was a nice thing to do. I said ?oh you?ve missed a wrapper in that table? and to my surprise I was met with the response ?clean it yourself? and I was taken aback because I couldn?t think what I?d done wrong. Maybe I?d stuck a nerve? Maybe customer service just isn?t something the Milton values anymore. Sad to see because in the past there were a great staff team, but seems to have gone downhill ? won?t be going again sadly.

The Milton was always our go to for a great Sunday lunch, but sadly this visit will be our last. We have been to the Milton, mostly on a Sunday for the past four or five years and have always recommended it to others. However it has changed hands and I?m afraid has really gone downhill. Despite booking, we were squashed onto a small dog friendly table with our two dogs, when we asked if there was a bigger table, more at the edge of the room as one of our dogs was reactive, we were told they were fully booked (we were the only ones in at this point) fifteen minutes later a small group of people arrived, they hadn?t booked, but were shown to a large corner table with their dog. When I asked why they had been given that table and we were told it wasn?t available, the ?manager?? told me the staff member must have been mistaken about being fully booked! No one else turned up for another hour, just as we were leaving! Now let?s get on to the food, it was so disappointing, we had brought my mum as a special treat as she hardly goes out and we had convinced her telling her the food is always lovely. The beef was practically inedible, some pieces were so chewy even the dogs struggled with it. Mum and myself managed half of one slice each. The roast potatoes were dry and the parsnips were hard. Absolutely gutted, the search begins again for a dog friendly pub serving a decent Sunday roast

The meal was delicious, the only slight criticism is we got offered a choice of pink or well-done beef. We chose pink, but it came out well done, but it didn't greatly spoil the meal. The service was great and the meal arrived very quickly.
