Rarely have I been so disappointed to post a review. Have been visiting this shop regularly for about a year, it?s not particularly local but I?ll often detour on my way home so that I can call as I enjoy the coffee and bakery selection and have purchased wines, gifts etc on occasion as well. I popped in today at 3:20pm and asked for a coffee to go, only to be told very abruptly ?No? . I thought the guy was joking at first but then he advised me that it was school run time, so he wouldn?t have time to mess about heating milk for a minute while there were children in the shop!I could have understood this if there had been anyone else in or had I been ordering several drinks but I?m pretty sure he had enough time to put a single coffee through, but again I was just told ?No, it?s been a rule for about a year now!?Wow! When people talk about supporting small businesses, which I always try to do, perhaps said businesses should take a lead out of the multiples books and stop putting up ridiculous barriers for their customers. I?m pretty sure Starbucks would have just made the coffee! On a final note as I was leaving a lady with 2 small children entered and as a parting shot the guy just offered ?you see, this is why!? Seems to me like ALL of their customers are seen as an inconvenience :(

What a great find! Stumbled upon it on our walk back from gig at Hillsborough Park and they had stayed open for the passing trade. Crumpets, butter, milk and beer the order of the day/night.Looked very well stocked with essentials and an really good choice of beer. I wish we had a corner shop like this near home?

Bobdog says: "Most reliable shop for treats and fusses. V sad when it's closed, will stare at the door anyway when we pass, just in case."We love the Green Shop. Great for essentials, treats, eco goodies, cards, gifts and even videogame chat. Try: the toasties, the alcohol free beers, the Mummy Bear Bakes brownies, all the Our Cow Molly stuff, the coffee... It's all good. They also do a foodbank collection and they sell produce from the local allotments grown by the schoolkids up the road when it's in season. Loads of gifts made by local artists and makers too. But most important for us is the videogame chat and the dog appreciation. We love you Green Shop :)
