February 2018 by Andrew Johnson"Beautiful 13th century coaching inn with plenty of character. We visited on a crisp Winters afternoon and the arrival of a roaring, open fire was a welcome sight. The real ale was a well kept selection of largely local brews, with the food classic, simple but well cooked fayre. I had the Giant Yorkshire which was generous for the price, and the mackerel salad and Cajun chicken were both well received but the cod fishcakes were lacking a little in flavour and seasoning. Certainly worth a visit if you're in the area after a long walk"
November 2017 by David Allen"A beautiful pub in a fantastic setting! We've been here several times for meals or a drink. It's lovely outside in the summer and cozy inside in the winter. The meals are nice with good portions and they have a good variety of beers and other drinks. Well worth a trip after a walk in the surrounding area, and there's even a little animal enclosure (not quite a letting zoo though). There are generally several peacocks around and if you're lucky you might see the white peacock!"
