extremely poor service and I would not recommend it to my friends or family as they tried to charge me when I asked 4 times if this was going to be chargeable and 4 times they said NO as it was the NHS and I would not be charged I arrange an appointment and made the time to be told before the test that it will be chargeable I was not happy and will not be returning very poor comms..Update:- 13/12/2023Today Iv had a phone call fromBoots Opticians Lichfieldasking about this review above and they have apologised to me for any problems caused and they look to improve there procedures and services after my reviewI believe its only fare to update this review for others to read

I went in 2 weeks ago too buy perfume and the older woman on perfume counter ..Well what can I say ..very rude 0 customer skills didn't greet us she actually didn't speak at all just said price she was coughing too she did put her hand over her mouth but just no common currency to say excuse me nothing I won't be going there shopping again

Really easy to book at a time I wanted. Appointment was on time. Extremely thorough examination and care for my problem. Really friendly consultation and all the staff were brilliant.

I thought the eye tests were excellent. However I felt a bit rushed when choosing my frames. Overall I was very happy with the service and collection. I have used boots opticians for several years now and would not hesitate to return or recommend.

Went into boots opticians Lichfieldafter falling out in car park and banged my head and broke my glasses.The gentleman I saw in there was so kind and managed to find me a new frame and sorted out my glasses for me.He really showed concern and was lovely.My husband and me were so grateful

Shocking experience!!! Went in for a routine vision test. Suddenly I found myself interrogated with demands for details about my lifestyle, employment status, driver status, daily activities, date of birth, which benefits I claim (the thought that I might not claim any didn't occur to them), smoker status... I thought I had ended up in some surreal police interrogation!All the while I was being treated as if I were of low intelligence, with very obvious contempt.When I asked where my details will get stored, at first I got told only as a paper copy. Then it was online but only in that opticians and it wouldn't go outside of it. It took me speaking to two managers for it to transpire that I had been lied to, and that my details would be going on the national, ie nationwide, Boots system!!!!When I inquired as to why they need to take all these details, I got told "that's just what we do". When I said that this is not an answer, I got more of the same "that's just what we do" - with the staff members assuming I was just another dumb patient who would be happy with such a nonsensical non-answer!When I explained that I would make it clear next to my signature on the document that I would be signing under duress, they suddenly weren't keen on that at all and stammered "but we are not forcing you to sign". No but it's blackmail and I told them so - "sign or no test"! In my book that's blackmail - a criminal offense!Due to me expressing that I would be making it clear next to my signature that I would be signing under duress, they lied yet again and claimed "but you are not going to sign the document" - a statement that soon turned out to be another lie when speaking to the manager!In all this, the woman who had by then stuck her nose in, claimed she had worked for Specsavers before and they "use the same system and also take all patients' details and keep them on file"In the end I got kicked out and told to go elsewhere!Walked straight into Specsavers - where it transpired the Boots woman had lied about that as well as they don't keep a national record of patients' details and DELETE THEM AFTER THE PATIENT HAS HAD THEIR VISION TEST if the patient so wishes!!!Specsavers were busy, Boots Opticians was totally empty - now I know why...In all this, I got treated like a criminal, asked why I don't want all my details on the national Boots system (and with this, no doubt overseas) - well guess why you scammers - BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU who abuse patients' details!!!Shocking place, should be shut down as the place is clearly a danger to the public but certain details about the entire staff force explains why they are allowed to exist - despite having zero customers!Oh and in all this there was very loud non-stop "music" - screaming to be precise - to such an extent I could barely hear a word anyone said - staff appear to assume the place is a nightclub, not an opticians!Specsavers are much better, treated me with respect, staff spoke proper English (the Boots folks didn't!), provided me with the details I wanted and without treating me like a criminal, informed me they could delete my details after any tests if I so wish... that's what an optician should be like!

Excellent customer service from Manjit and the optician. My eye test was exceptional and everything was explained through out. One thing I especially liked was that the optician herself had to double check my prescription, something I have not experienced elsewhere. I would definitely recommend Boots Opticians, Bakers Lane. Lichfield.

Excellent customer service from staff member Chloe this morning. Called in as my favourite sunglasses had broken and she repaired them and cleaned them within a few minutes free of charge. Much appreciated, thank you.

I havenâ??t been to this opticians before and i was pleasantly surprised by the helpfulness of one of the staff members. Chloe was very helpful, friendly and cheerful, she explained things properly and gave great customer service. I have been to other opticians in the area and i have found myself a bit uncomfortable as to their approach to customers - for example seeming as though i dont know what im on about and/ dont know fully what theyre actually doing but at boots i found they were great, they didnt invade my space and was there to help if needed and understood what i meant. I would definitely recommend boots and they have great prices too compared to others, Chloe especially made my experience better with her attitude towards customers and didnt make me feel awkward unlike other opticians.
