Not sure why some people volunteer at charity shops if they hate the public so much.Terrible experience at the Tamworth shop in Middle Entry this morning (Tuesday 20th June).I needed to return an item and had been advised to retain my receipt.which I showed her. Her first reaction upon stating that I had a return was to make an obvious and loud ?tut?, clearly to show her displeasure at having to deal with my requestThe weather this morning was awful and unfortunately, the bag was damp (not the contents, I stress) so I put the bag on the counter and she immediately complained and belittled and embarrassed me by picking up the bag, making a fuss about the small amount of water on the counter and then giving it a complete wipe down before asking what I would like to return.Upon offering her the garment to check and producing the receipt, she went into what I can only describe as a minor melt down about how she didn?t have any change and that the refund would take all of her loose float for the day.Fortunately, the shop was empty so I don?t feel as uncomfortable as I perhaps would with an audience. However, her behaviour was totally unacceptable, out of proportion and rude and I would add that her lack of coins is her issue, NOT the customers.Unfortunately, I didn?t get the name of the lady but she has been there for years, is an older, slightly built lady and this is not the first time that she has been rude to me, my family or other customers. It would appear, there is a reputation here.I believe, despite her age and charitable intentions, a period of retraining would not go amiss or maybe secondment to another local shop where politeness and customer care is apparent.

Helpful, friendly and dedicated staff who went above and beyond what was expected of them. I was spooking for an item and the lady very kindy searched for it and then gave me exact details of the stock item to ensure I did not travel the considerable distance to collect it in vain.

Sign in the window asked for books so I had a clear out and cycled down with a selection. Lady on the desk seemed very put out that I wanted to keep my reusable bag and informed me I had made it awkward when the stack was on the counter. I offered to move them to another place but she said I wasn't allowed. She was very huffy and I was made to feel that my good dead had inconvenienced her. Will be taking donations to other shops in future.

Sign in window asking for volunteers so I asked about being a volunteer and I was turned down because I'm a young male and they only take on elderly people but they were happy to take my monthly payments for their fundings which I have now cancelled the direct debit

Very bad I tried donating a kingsize mattress, they wouldn't take it cause it had one little stain on it plus I got told they would ring me before coming to my house, did they no, they rang me as I just opened my door so completely useless wasted my time with waiting all week for them to say they can't take it, they need to be more specific on the phone if they can not take stuff.
