My son recently brought his Fiat Punto into the Felixstowe branch with an oil leak. The car was inspected and we were advised that the sump tray was permeable and needed replacing. As well as this it was advised that the gasket needed to be replaced and that a new oil filter be fitted and the existing oil also be replaced. This was all done and my son paid £450 for the pleasure, including an NHS discount. You can imagine his disappointment, however, when a month later we noticed that the car was leaking again. Anyway, we took the car back to the garage and was told that it was nothing to do with the parts that were replaced previously but was coming from somewhere else and would cost about £250 to fix, and could possibly be more if the clutch needed replacing. We decided not to go ahead with this and took it to a different garage for a second opinion. When that garage turned round and said that it was coming from the sump, one of the parts that was replaced as mentioned above, we were again extremely disappointed. The mechanic at the other garage could not understand why it cost so much as well and also advised that there was no gasket. He also advised that the oil had become contaminated and also needed to be replaced. We, then, agreed to pay £150 to have these remedied as we had got nowhere with Hadleigh Tyres. This, in my opinion, is not good enough and I will definitely have second thoughts about using Hadleigh Tyres in the future.Service: General repairs & maintenance
