Honestly could not have asked for a better experience. The food was incredible and the service was unmatched. The staff at the restaurant were incredible. We didn?t have to lift a finger. They were knowledgeable with the menus and made great recommendations. We went for our ten year wedding anniversary and they made it a memorable experience for us. If I could give ten stars I would. We stayed in Mill room East and the accommodations were perfect. The large bath tub was a great way to wind down the end of the day and the atmosphere that they created was stylish and rustic. We will for sure return. Great job tuddenham mill.Rooms: Very spacious and comfortable. Luxurious but in a welcoming and comfortable way.Food & drinks: I had the munk fish and we had some muscles and I woke up this morning wishing I had more. It was amazing.Noteworthy details: The pieces of the remaining mill are a nice touch.

We visited this week to celebrate a friends birthday and enjoy the Twixmas menu. The setting was wonderful, and the staff were so welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was delicious. Will went above and beyond to make sure that we all enjoyed our drinks and meals and the whole staff were fantastic. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough and will definitely be returning.Food & drinks: We visited for a celebratory meal and were very pleased with the range of mocktails, cocktails and locally sourced food elements.

Tragic!I found this restaurant one evening by flicking through the Michelin Guide website. I thought to myself, ?wow a highly recommended restaurant on my doorstep, I must try it.?First impressions were great. The building and setting are beautiful. Greeted by warm and friendly staff. We were very exited to try the food.Enjoying a red wine, we were seated upstairs in a beautiful, quaint dining room. We were two of 6 people in the restaurant on this winter?s Sunday evening. Maybe that should have told us something.Arriving first were some flat breads topped with smoked nduja and garlic butter. The topping was amazing, such rich flavors. However, we were quickly disappointed in the chunky stale bread they were on. Very chewy almost like they were left over from yesterday?s service. Not put off by this, what we thought was an anomaly, we eagerly awaited our starter. The bone marrow, cutting to the chase, was just a bowl of rendered fat and oil with very little flavor topped with some supermarket black pudding. My partner?s salmon was bland thick cut raw salmon, not smoked, not cooked, nothing to make this worth its overinflated cost.At this point, the wine was helping us drastically. The waiters were lovely and helpful. A delight to chat with. Although with such few covers this makes sense. With admittedly great timing, our mains arrived. Wow. This is what earned the title of this review. Firstly, my partner?s steak? When you think steak, you think high end. Especially for £46. The menu stated a sirloin. We hoped for such a price, this cheaper cut of meat would be an amazing example of itself. When asked how he?d like it, he asked for the chef?s recommendation. This cut of beef renowned for its stringy fat and need for rendering, arrived charred on the outside but blue on the inside. Leaving a chewy crust and all the strings and sinew coursing through this thin and unimpressive plate of meat. Please see my photos of this dreadful, overpriced disappointment. A thin slice of horrendous beef placed on a plate with two single leaves of Lettice. To put this in perspective, down the road is my favorite restaurant that serves a beautiful fillet of beef for £35.My main, the partridge, was very small, great in flavor but dry and shown no love nor care.Glad we ordered a side of chips as they were the only thing to contain any real edible substance. The £6 side of leaks, however; Inch and a half thick in diameter, rough cut into lengths still with the leak bulb attached. No finesse or effort, these were slightly grilled on the outside yet still squeaky raw in the middle. No garlicy vinegar as promised, or flavor for that matter. Just an inedible plate of raw leaks, 60p from Tesco straight onto a plate. We declined deserts and paid our £200 bill and left. Felt like we needed to stop for some food on the way home.Terrible and will not be returning. Very unfortunate.

We stayed overnight in a little one-room "pod" outside the main building, which was nicely odd but beginning to show signs of tiredness and needs rejuvenation. It was also very hot, and not air-conditioned. But it was spotlessly clean and reasonably well provisioned. The restaurant is very good, though - with four-star food and five-star service. The old-mill atmo is also very appealing, as is the bar terrace overlooking the mill pond (complete with nesting swans). The overall location is a bit middle-of-nowhere, but the setting (from the back, at least) is lovely.

We had booked the tepee so on arrival we asked where to go and we were told that they had a wedding there and it wouldn't be open. A tad perplexed we sat in the bar and looked at the menu. We were told the tepee closes at 7:30 anyway- but we thought that was what we had booked!? The website does not make it clear that the tepee closes at 7:30 so anything after that would be in the bar. Our choices were to eat in the bar or go upstairs to the far more expensive menu. Being our wedding anniversary, we decided to eat upstairs. We had anticipated a nice evening in the tepee so after all we didn't want to sit in the bar. We went with the taster menu and we were not disappointed with it-it was exceptional. Although a far more expensive evening, and a little frustrating to start with it was really nice.
