Lovely Traditional Portuguese Coffee Shop like stepping back in time Coffee is exceptional and the atmosphere is like sitting in a village in Portugal ?? the food was new to me but really enjoyed ideal position just a couple of doors down the road from the Playhouse Theatre on the same road as you walk Towards the Centre of Epsom

Family run and welcoming Portuguese cafe, usually serves a fresh dish each day. Go on a Friday or traditional salted cod. Also serves wine and beer and possibility the best expressos and egg tarts in town.

Significantly knowingly overcharged me for a takeaway. Did not give me a till receipt. I bought 2 x octopus £4.20 ea 2x jars of honey £5.95 ea, one coffee £2, I then asked for a chicken escalope sandwich with cheese and the bill came to £36.10, he did not tell me the price though I know the the prices of the afore mentioned meaning he charged me £13.80 for the sandwich. Homey, cozy and nice. Great food, great snacks and cool tinny market all in one space. The service is relaxed and very warm. Go for the traditional espresso and pastel de nata breakfast and you won?t regret it.

This Portugese cafe is a little spot of Portugal transplanted into leafy Surrey. I know lots of these similar cafes in Central London - family places, which show continental football and frequented by patrons from particular nations. These are fantastic to sit in if there's a big football match on - you get a terrific atmosphere and some very traditional food. Cafe Viriato caught my eye as my salsa friend and I headed out to dinner tonight. I was drawn to the deli counter where I spied some cheese. On entering, I also spotted some pastel de nata, which are delicious creamy Portugese custard tarts, giving me a hint that this was a Portugese cafe. The owners were happy to chat about the Portugese produce and give me a few samples of the cheeses to try. I walked out with a local cheese, which is quite close to Comte in taste. I would love to return here when the Football World Cup starts - the atmosphere should be great.
