Found what we needed seems to be difficult to find staff sometimes but I suppose it is a big warehouse. Good variety of items

The website says you're pet friendly and we've been turned away, disappointing. Humans are much worse than animals...

About double the price of Amazon. Only reason to use them is to grab something on short notice

Very poor experience at this store. Had already spoken to a few representatives over the phone previously and just wasn?t happy with the service I was receiving, so I decided to pay the store a visit.I placed an order for 2 bathroom?s early August and was given a preliminary date for delivery 2 weeks later. I asked for this to be pushed back to 1st week of September since I was going to be abroad.Returned back on 1st September and when I queried the delivery a few days later since we had provisionally mentioned the 7th, I was told that the order was still in ?new? status and that I should have received a notification from the courier to confirm delivery. No confirmation, no email, no text message to that effect.Returned to the store yesterday and decided to cancel the order completely since the reason they gave was that due to 1 or 2 items which I required for the downstairs bathroom were not available, the order had not moved forward. I asked them to just send all the other items and forget the 2 items which they couldn?t supply but was then told it would be another lead time of 10 days wait. So the fact that I had no communication from Homebase, they just didn?t offer any practical solutions regardless of who is at fault. Im not sure if they are understaffed or just under qualified but I was left with no alternative but to cancel the order as they were simply dragging their heels with responses like ?we?ll call you tomorrow? , ?I?ll get my colleague to call you when he?s back? , ?Nothing I can do? , ? Can?t do that, won?t do that? and the list goes on but it gets boring. The situation became urgent due to the fact I have tradesman on site prepping the first of the two bathrooms and are now ready for the units to be placed in their respective positions. Decided that I couldn?t afford anymore delays, so I proceeded with cancelling the whole order. Spent 30 mins waiting for a refund and whilst I could be wrong, I sensed a slight bit of sarcasm with a comment from one of their employees upon exiting saying ?good luck finding what you need?. They may well read this review now and say it?s not what they intended, but, I?ve dealt with enough people both personally and professionally to tell the difference.Either way, good luck was on my side as I managed to return home, visited Victoria Plum online, placed the order at 16:30 yesterday and all my items were delivered by lunchtime today which was less than 18 hours from clicking the buy button. So not only did I get everything I needed delivered next day, I saved myself quite a lot of money in the process, so I?m pleased with the outcome.Refund did come through within a day so that?s justified at least a 1 star otherwise it would have been 0. Definitely won?t be stepping in a Homebase anytime soon.

Just been to Homebase...what a depressing experience. If I could give it zero stars I would as one is far more than Homebase deserves. If you want to look for one of the next UK retailers to go down the pan look no further. Wilko deserved it as a good brand was ran into the ground through poor management and a poor offer and this is sadly the same here; it is patently clear that this a business thst having clung on for years is gradually breathing it's last breaths.Ewell - allegedly one of the larger and more "profitable" branches I've heard staff laughingly call it "a Flagship" (I'd hate to see an unprofitable one and what exactly Homebase consider to be a "Flagship" ), dropping to bits, looking uncared for, dirty, tired and desperate.Brand damaging would be an appropriate summary normally however this is a brand who's heyday was 30 years ago, ons who's brand has not had any credibility or value for many a year.It has been through two huge owners in Sainsbury's and Bunnings that sank money into an operation that delivered no discernable return.Miserable, grumpy staff that don't make eye contact with customers, overpriced home stock of dubious quality, sales areas sub-let in a desperate bid to fill space and generate easy instant cash.Offsales all over the place with filthy gaps where stock should be. A complete lack of pricing integrity with missing tickets everywhere - i'm not hunting for the price I just won't bother.Houseplants and garden plants go here to die as the staff simply do not know how or are not given the time to look after them. Maybe both, maybe they simply don't care. This business is creating waste by the tonne while destroying an already incredibly weak brand...no wonder Bunnings ditched the UK after wasting over a billion pounds on the business...it's a money pit.I simply cannot go there again and I know others who feel the same. The only reason I have is because I know there will be something I can rescue...however for my soul it's simply not worth it.For those who actually find a way to spend money they have to camp for two days to be served.Do yourself a favour and avoid this place. It does not deserve to be in business and there are many local garden centres that need your support, will serve you well, will inform you and sell you quality products. They will make you feel welcome.Homebase on the contrary will simply make you sad.
