I took my MP3 player (which has sentimental value!) which had a loose headphone socket - DS Budd fixed it very quickly and provided an excellent service. Thank you very much! I would highly recommend.

I took my Sony STR - DE585 amp in for repair as I lost sound from right channel and centre was intermittent sound. I must say that within 3 days it was fixed and even cleaned for little bit extra. I have had it for 20yrs and it's so great to have this type of traditional electrical business to repair rather than throw it away. I'm sure it will last another 20yrs. The service I received was top notch, its that personal service that DS Budd gives to theirs customers makes the gain a very good respected reputation. They deserve 5 stars. Excellent service.

Very happy with DS Budd, they managed to repair our twenty year old Sony TV with very quick and excellent service. Andy even helped me carry it back to the house which was highly appreciated. Thanks again

My Project carbon turntable had a terrible hum. This was due to a faulty wire. Emailed firstly, and was told to bring it in to have a look at. First point of contact was a lovely lady called Audrey, full of smiles and warmth, the shop itself transported me back many years to a proper shop. I explained to Audrey the trouble I was having, she wrote down to my words, on a carbon order. Then was the given a rough estimate, which I thought was very reasonable.I was told it would be a few days and they will get in touch, on the 3rd day I had a call to say it was all sorted. Upon collection again lovely Audrey greeted me, and knew my name. I was told that the issue had been fixed, and with a new lead I needed for another part of my system, the total was a few pound over the quote, only reason was that I needed this lead. I would highly recommend for any electrical issues that need sorting.Thank youMr.S.Gowar

Just repaired my REL subwoofer which no one else would even look at unless I was prepared to courier halfway across the country. They fixed in less that 24 hours and it now works perfectly. Excellent Service.

In 2016 I had a Rega Planar 3 turntable repaired and fitted with a new 24 volt motor. Also a Yamaha cassette player repaired. All for a very reasonable charge of £300. Seven years later both are still working perfectly. Mr Budd seemed to be a genuine enthusiast and committed to good quality work. I'm a very satisfied customer. Thanks.

Unfortunately another service plug&play type....I was given my cassette deck from 1978 for repair, i was heard it cannot be repaired because no parts on the market ( pinch roll) , but another guy do the measurement and on the market it's a lot of that kind of pinch rolls...honestly pinch roll was only dirty...Another time ...amp , leave all details and waiting for respond over 6 months now....Sec star only for that lady behind desk...

I wrote the review below but decided to give D.S.Budd a second chance. I had a Sony TC-K850ES cassette deck and a Sony TA-F770ES amplifier that needed attention. The amp worked fine apart from recording because the REC OUT selector would cut the sound from one/both channels so I was unable to successfully make recordings through this amplifier. It is a 30kg amplifier that sold for £600 in the 80s so worth getting it fixed. The cassette deck was an ebay purchase that worked, but all the transport buttons were temperamental - you either had to press very hard or sometimes press and hold the button down for play/ffd/rew to work. Again, it is a Sony ES high end model.I dropped both items off with the lady and again, was called a couple of days later and told Andy had spent a fair bit of time looking at them but was unable to get any parts. The items were returned to me still with all the faults and this time I was charged £20.Again, I made the further (for me) trip to West London and dropped both items off. Both items were successfully fixed. The cassette deck needed new switches behind the transport buttons that were £6 each, the amplifier had a worn potentiometer which was replaced. This just cements the fact that if the engineer "can't be bothered" D.S.Budd will not fix your item and you may end up disposing of it thinking that it is unrepairable, when this is clearly not the case.I know this flies in the face of other reviews, but I have tried D.S.Budd on 2 occasions now and they have managed to fix nothing - telling me that my items (from the mid 80s) are beyond repair, only for me to have then had them successfully repaired elsewhere. I simply cannot recommend them on this basis.

A very slick and friendly operation. I dropped off an old (1985) Aiwa power amplifier that would not power up and was pleasantly surprised to see that there is no fee to inspect the kit, only for the repairs themselves.Anyway, a couple of days later I was called and told that a capacitor had blown and there was no replacement available, as it was a bespoke part and long since discontinued, so a fix was not possible.I am grateful that my amp was returned to me and that I paid nothing for the "diagnosis".As this was part of a £1,200 midi system that I had craved owning since 1985 and only got my hands on one in 2021(!) it seemed a shame that I had only owned it for a year and now it was seemingly only fit for scrap/spares.For a second opinion I took it to another repair place in West London who managed to fix it (it was not the main capacitor, but a minor one that was causing overheating) by changing 5 parts and charging me about £60. The main thing is that my system is up and running again.I have no issue with D.S.Budd, they offer great value for money, and I was impressed with the speed of service I received, however the diagnosis was obviously not as thorough as it should have been as my "unsaveable" amp is now saved.

Took confidence from all the glowing reviews and entrusted Mr Budd with the repair of our 15 year old, much loved CD player. What can I say?It was the week before Xmas. He repaired it, serviced and cleaned it. It was ready for collection within 24 hours and the bill was??modest. Friendly and helpful as well. The business, he tells me, was established by his grandfather. There are not many like this around these days?.Grateful thanks.

Excellent service repaired my Arcam A85 amplifier, following an online search having been quoted an extortionate amount by the manufacturer. Repaired for a fraction of the amount. By the way a great little village location.
