“Nestled at the top of Guildford high street, this site welcomes the visitor with a smattering of lost youths idly browsing their mobile phones, posed like statues around the entrance. On entering, one discovers the vegetables, always one type of vegetable conspicuously absent, as though the farmers, one vegetable at a time, go on strike in protest at harsh contractual conditions. This shop is too big to be a little local, but to small to be a supermarket. It is an OK-market, a whatever-market. All the customers look slightly lost, on the way home, but not home yet, ready to slump on the sofa, if they can only make it up the last piece of hill, past the estate agents, and in through the front door, orange bags rustling all the way to the kitchen counter.”

“Would be five, if I hadn't discovered a punnet of cherries, that had been added into my shopping. Didn't want them, never touched any in shop, and wouldn't have wanted to pay for them!THE receipts they produce, are useless, as it does not state individual items.... And that's of they even give you one.Eggs 50p cheaper, same size, in other butchers, along aldershot Road.Deffo a bit pricey, but stuff better than supermarkets and g Town Market, but thats in keeping with the parade of shops' prices too.”
