My dad chose this local optician in support of shopping local. Upon entering the examination room, my dad inquired about the lack of use of certain machines, to which the optician confidently asserted his professional credentials as a 'real optician? and that he didn?t need the machines.Following the examination, my father felt pressured into purchasing a pair of glasses priced at £300, only to be left unsatisfied with the final product and got home not liking the frames he had chose. During the fitting appointment, I personally accompanied my dad, but the optician's interaction lasted a mere 20 seconds before he rushed to attend to the next client, even abruptly leaving when my dad had questions about his eyesight, stating, 'I?m seeing someone else now.' Once the optician left, the receptionist was more interested in trying to sell my dad a bit of string for his glasses than answering my dads concerns about his eyes.Upon returning home, the prescribed glasses proved inadequate, he felt he could see better with his previous glasses leading my father to revert to his previously prescribed Specsavers glasses from four years ago. Despite our repeated requests, the optician is still yet to provide the prescription he gave.I took my dad to Specsavers the following day which offered a vastly different experience. They conducted a meticulous analysis of my dads eyes and informed us that his prescription had remained unchanged since their last examination in 2019. The single star I grant to this establishment is solely for their prompt refund process, which transpired after I expressed my dissatisfaction with the situation. This entire episode left us deeply disappointed and questioning the integrity of the service provided.
