Regarding the travel currency kiosk.I took 20 euro to be exchanged into pounds. The woman refused to take the note because it had a little mark on the note. She said the policy is to only accept clean currency. Ridiculous!I exchanged the 20 euro at Ramsden, no bother.

Typical Asda but has gone downhill a bit lately for 2 main reasons1. Started holding trollies ransom for £1 deposit when they've been free from this inconvenience for many many years2. Scan and go zappers are never available. They're all either broken, missing or not charged. Really like using them and never get the chance any more. Either have more available or charge the ones you have more efficientlyWould be one star except some of the staff are really nice. Except the ones pushing those trolleys around picking someone's online order. They don't care about the customer at all and are just rushing around getting in the way.Might bump this up a star if I can get a scan and go scanner 3 times in a rowFree the trollies! ?

Monday morning, massive queues, 3 staff on the basket, trolley and self scan tills, if you want people to ?self scan? what?s the point in having the staff scanning them again!! No trust obviouslySkeleton staff on normal tills it was chaosWhen I asked why, apparently the manager Sean had cut the hours for staff and he had been in but had now gone homeThe staff are not to blame they deserve better than this from management Sean get your act together mate and get on the tills and see how hard your staff work

I doubt I'll ever return to the cafe, it was disgusting. Came in for breakfast with a friend before shopping and wish we hadn't. The atmosphere, caused by the terrible attitude of the lady manager, her name badge said Helen, was very off-putting. She was snapping at the other staff like they were always wrong. She started taking orders for lunch before 11:00 while breakfast was still on then walked off and left the rest to deal with the chaos. The man washing dishes was "told" to take her place. To anyone who reads this review, please avoid as you will not enjoy your meal.

DisgracefulI regularly shop at Asda, Boldon. Called in yesterday to purchase a Christmas tree, at a cost of £25. As part of the Asda rewards app, I had a voucher for £4 off when ?spending £20 or more on Christmas lights, trees and decorations?. On scanning the tree, the discount was initially applied, but when I went to pay, the £4 discount had been removed. I queried this with a member of staff who couldn?t explain why the discount had not been applied. Two other members of staff attempted to assist but again could offer no explanation as to why the discount had not been applied. They called for further assistance. A small, bespectacled man, wearing a Christmas jumper, possibly a manager? appeared. He was very dismissive, asking if I had read the terms and conditions of the voucher, which I indeed had, before attempting to make my purchase. He then stated that the £4 discount on Christmas tree?s applied only to the £100 artificial tree on sale! I asked him, where in the terms and conditions this was stipulated and he was unable to answer this, even after spending over 10 minutes, scrolling through the t&c on the app. He then stated although it was not written anywhere, it was ?up to the manager?s discretion?!! Excuse me!! Surely this amounts to false advertising or misrepresentation? It was apparent to me that this manager? was simply making it up as he was going along! Absolutely disgraceful. Shame on you Asda

Fab range of stock. However, there are never any ?scan and go? scanners charged which defeats the point of ?scan and go? and is quite frustrating. Also, there is always a large queue which is frustrating for people who have disabilities and cannot stand for long.

There are never any handsets and tried using the self scan app and it scanned 4 boxes of eggs when we only bought one, need to put all the checkouts back on can't expect us to do it all ourselves without the equipment being available. Well done asda scored nearly £10.00

21:30hrs I went to Asda Boldon as I had left my glasses at work and was lost without them. I was unable to find the stand with pre-prescription glasses so asked a member of floor staff if they could help. Ali went over and beyond even contacting security to get permission for her to go into the opticians which were closed to get me a pair off their stand! What an absolute star ?? and so lovely and helpful thank you so much Ali. Needless to say it worked as I can see to write this review ?

I decided today to try the scan and go experience. When I reached the pay station I was unsure how to get shopping from scanner to screen. So at this point I witnessed three staff with Happy to Help.yellow coats on chatting and ignoring customers.Eventually when I got their attention not one came over but said abruptly follow the screen.May I add I'm a gentle soul who is polite, patient and admires people in Customer Care. I couldn't work the technology so said would you mind coming to helpPlease when I was again looked at like dirt and told follow the screen.I've shopped at Boldon since it opened. Who interviews such trolls ( sorry but it's true) and their must laugh at customer care training as I'd rather have been helped by Basil Fawlty.Shocking, rude, arrogant staff.Maybe looking at the reviews you should consider getting a training company in cause maybe if talked to again like this I will leave the shopping in the trolley and walk out.

This store has gone downhill substantially.Lack of staff, prices have skyrocketed and the final insult to injury is the carrier bags are now needed to be requested from staff in the scan and go aisle, so often because of the lack of staff you?re standing around like an absolute divvy waiting for a CARRIER BAG.Which causes queues. My girlfriend bought a mascara from the scan and go, the till asked if she wanted a receipt and she pressed no, she walks out and the alarm goes off because it had a tag on it, but because she didn?t have proof of purchase they treat her like a common thief and threatened to take it off her because of this.LUCKILY THE TILL HADNT BEEN USED AFTER HER SO STILL HAD THE PURCHASE ON THE SCREEN.Good things the asda has.A Greggs inside and a decent enough cafe which is still reasonably priced.

Ordered this kettle in the sale for £13.00 day before it was due to be collected from the. Store got an email saying order could not be for filled due to being out of stock yet when I went onto website surprise surprise kettle was still available from the same store, only difference they had put price back up to £20.00 which is full price.this is not good practice and I will be putting this review on all social media platforms and review sites just to let everyone know what your doing.absolute disgrace.

All ASDA stores have changed for the worse, since the ISA brothers bought it from Walmart - My first visit recently to ASDA Boldon is one I'd rather forget - I had a very bad experience at the self service checkout area whilst queueing, I was disgusted to see 1 young chap running around... in charge of 10+ self service checkouts? I shall not be using the ASDA Boldon store in future. The queue's are ridiculous during peak times...and the staff can be rude!I dumped my basket full.of groceries and walked out disgruntled and empty handed.Never again! Ended up going to Herons around the corner.
