Absolute disgraceful service. How he is still in business is beyond me!. Took a tv in for repair. After 3 months of phone calls and so many excuses about obtaining a part decided to take my tv back. Would not give my £90 deposit even though I don?t think he even looked at the tv. The tv itself was absolutely covered in dust where it had been stood in the workshop for 3 months but worse still was the numerous scratches to the screen. Something had been spilled on the screen also and a feeble attempt had been made to wipe it off. So many negative reviews on here, only wish I?d read them beforehandService: TV repair

Absolute crook of a person. A wait of 1 month for a tv to be fixed and it not being done. And the tv being damaged when demanding it back. Judging by the reviews on here they have been doing it a while. I have reported them to trading standards and Newcastle council.

Kept tv for month- damaged it rather than repaired it. Charged £90 for nothing. Had to chase Colin Mitchell to get our tv back. If I could give minus stars would have done so!Service: TV repair

Colin serviced an old Trio amp that had been out of action for years. He was very clear about the upfront costs to inspect the device and the timescales he was working to. On collection Colin explained the work he had carried out to fix it, top job.

Dropped my Technics amp in during the pandemic. Chased after 3 months - excuses (waiting for a part). Rang me after 7 months to say was ready and was £150 (more than the value of the amplifier). I asked him what happened to providing a quote before proceeding with works? He apologised and said he could accept £120. I just paid to get the thing back as it was part of a matching system. I wouldn't recommend at all.

Had my 1979 Sharp HiFi turntable repaired by Colin. Told me from the off that it'll be a few weeks before he can look at it. Got it back & over the moon, works fantastic. Thanks Colin. Great job.

Sometimes to do something properly takes a bit of time, which a lot of people in today's microwave-dinner society can't comprehend. I got my vintage B&Ws repaired with the original woofer (ie; back to their original state) and they're perfect. The £45 initial charge was directly applied to the labour so all I had to pay when collecting them was the price of the spare part. Yes, it took some time to locate and procure the woofer (since the speakers are from the 70s!) But I was able to get an update at any point along the way. Thanks!!

Far to expensive ask?s £45 before he even touches it! All I needed was 5 tiny wires soldered together and asked me to leave his shop and said go look somewhere else Not happy at all with his service and he is very miserable, good luck in the future , that?s why ur tellys have no Business because that are full of spiders webs in the window

Took a Denon stereo system in for repair over three months ago and paid £45 up front. Since then I have heard nothing; emails are not getting a reply and I doubt that I will ever see the equipment again. Avoid.

I would love to give guy no stars, I wish I had read all the negative reviews before dealing with this guy because I have experienced exactly the same and some of these reviews go back years! I am sure the non refundable deposits is a scam that I can?t believe I fell for, he gets paid regardless if he can be bothered to fix your item or not and you have to believe what he says, anyway if you want to be lied to and be messed around and phone call?s ignored and fobbed off with every excuse under the sun then this is the guy to waste your money on.

COWBOY avoid...... takes a £45.00 deposit and claims it was for handling even though he was never able to fix my amp and gives you a poor excuse that parts were not available but I can't get a refund.

Avoid at all costs, I took my amp in to him, paid a £45.00 deposit then he said he could not fix it and said the money I paid was not refundable.

Visited this store to get my TV repaired after dropping it at a camping trip with my dogs. It was difficult to find a locally run TV repairer but I found Colin through here! He was honest about the whole thing, he said my TV was not repairable as it?s too old and they don?t have parts for it. He advised me to get a Smart TV and it?s transformed how I view shows.Colin?s been working at the store for over 40 years now and is approved by big brands such as Toshiba, Sharp, Panasonic, and Yamaha and he is also a proud member of Retra (Radio, Electrical and Television Retailer?s Association). Colin has remarkable and unique skills in his craft, his TV quality builds are better than the big brands out there like Sony & Samsung and his knowledge of this industry is unmatched.I can?t wait to do business with you again Colin, I also have a broken toaster which I will be bringing in next week for you to look at.

Deserving of no stars...!Paid the initial £45 deposit to have the fault on a vintage stereo amplifier corrected. I supplied a copy of the amplifier's circuit diagram to assist "the engineer" that Mr Mitchell uses to repair audio equip't.Regular telephone calls (starting 3 months later to allow for possible time pressure resulting from Covid outbreak) were met always with the same response: "The workshop is waiting for parts, will telephone you when it's done".After one year (...!) rang a final time, received the exact same excuse (...!) and, therefore, asked when I could call to collect the amplifier, unrepaired. Was informed "Will contact the workshop, have it returned to the shop and will call you when it's ready".No such telephone call was received, something by that time I was expecting alas. As the amp was worth little more than the initial deposit - after 15 months decided to give up on ever seeing the amplifier again. If you need anything electronic repaired that requires the competency of a qualified technician....look elsewhere!
