Been for several outpatient appointments and minor operations here over the years (the most recent last month), and I can't fault either the doctors, support staff or the facilities. Efficient and friendly service from the NHS!

I attended the Breast Screening dept. Was treated with courtesy and respect. The procedure was explained to me in a clear way that was easily understood. I would have no hesitation in recommending anyone.

Excellent service plenty of expensive parking.Well signposted to find your way .The toilets are a bit hard to find. There are good cafes and plenty of dispensing machines dotted about. At the time we were there in A and E it was an 8 hour wait that went up to 10 hour wait

RVI maternity ward - I was a first time mum who delivered my baby in the maternity ward. I had requested prior to the birth to be in the birthing centre but had to have my baby delivered in the delivery suite due to staff shortages. I spent 4 horrendous nights at the RVI and was so relieved to be discharged due to the appalling attitude displayed by some (not all) staff. Staff mostly on the night shifts were rude and were reluctant to help me when I needed it most. I spent most nights crying and distressed and they showed no concern. I was hesitant to press the buzzer for help due to the disgusting attitude and feeling like I was being judged for asking for help. This needs to be addressed so that this doesn't happen to another mother again.

Recently I attended the Emergency Eye Clinic at The Royal Victoria Infirmary Newcastle, having been referred by my Optometrist as a matter of urgency, as I had a foreign body that had attached itself to the lens of my eye.Having arrived I was seen by a Triage Nurse then a Nurse Practitioner who confirmed that indeed a foreign object was visible. The object was removed from the lens of my left eye.I was treated with the upmost dignity during my brief visit.I would just like to express my gratitude to All the staff that cared for me during my visit to the Emergency Eye Clinic.First Class treatment..... Thank you.

Considering the pressure the NHS in general is under and with today being a strike day, I thought they were excellent and a reminder of how to value and invest in society,

Very difficult to get parked in the RVI or anywhere round about. It's expensive too! Hospital itself is modern, light and airy. Waiting times are usually 30 minutes to 45 minutes.

Don?t need to enlighten the uniformed who don?t know they will be waiting 5 to 6 hours for help no matter the emergency, will be met with rude unhelpful staff with faces like slapped arses no matter the time of the month there always the same, not a cracked smile or nothin, you will wait at reception desk and they will just see you standing there waiting to be seen but first must allow them to finish there conversation off first that comes priority over your pain or health, second older middle aged snout woman with glasses and short bob hair miserable and unpleasant to be stood sround. I had autism and she kept lookin over me making me uncomfortable, lastly what can I say some of the doctors are nice and helpful they are definitely overworked and overstretched I feel really bad for them but then again I have met ones who have been rude to me in the past, one even remarked that I could have at least changed my clothes before I came in to see her, terrible practice, I dread whenever I feel unwell and know I have to come here cause I would rather be at home in agony, anxious and with my mental health conditions spiralling they step foot anywhere near this dump. That?s my review take it or leave it.. hasn?t improved since 2022 mind.

Shocking and Disgusting hospital, went to A&E as coughing up blood. Made to feel like I was lying and a drunk, (zero alcohol in my system) reception were making fun of a patient disability. Passed the reception deck a few time to see nurses and doctors sat drinking tea. Next NHS strike I'll be shouting get back to work! No pay increase needed because you don't work.

I couldn?t have had a better experience.. The nurses at ward 41 (maternity) made me feel so comfortable. All the staff were warm and SO caring. It felt like I was surrounded by my family. I am returning for my C-section in April at this hospital no doubt. Incredible service.
