Biggest travel lodge I have ever visited. Pay attention to reception when they direct you as it is a rabbit warren of corridors.First room, hadn't been made up so back to reception. The second room had an occupant when we walked it. Thankfully they were understanding as it could have been very embarrassing. The third room was vacant, hooray but sadly VERY outdated and worn out.Scariest carpark in the world! So small you can barely drive around in it. Held my breath going up a level as tight was an understatement!!The evening meal was awful, but after 9 hours of driving in awful weather, we didn't care and went straight to bed. Good breakfast and lots of choices. All in all, cheap room, but you get what you pay for. No, we wouldn't stay again.

Really can't complain about anything. If you're expecting 5* luxury then you're going to the wrong place (although the rooms are clean and comfortable). However £45 for 3 of us in 1 room saved us a fortune in taxis after going to a gig in Newcastle. It was cheaper to stay overnight at Travelodge, then get train back in the morning.

The hotel is looking very tired and in need of some money spent on it. Public bar toilets are absolutely

I do really like travelodges but it can be so hit and miss depending on the location of it. I've stayed a few times in Forster Street Travelodge now.Pros1. It's very close to the city centre and walking distance to it.2. It's close to the quayside and some great bars and restaurants down there.3. The staff are friendly, polite, and professional. They have a good local knowledge of everything, from shopping to restaurants to bars and attractions. The Geordies are very helpful.4. It's very clean and comfortable. It's well kept for a budget hotel.5. The breakfasts are very good. There's a wide selection of hot and cold items, and they are very tasty. There's always a good supply and everything is replenished as soon as it's eaten. A coffee/tea machine with a selection of teas and coffees and a juice machine with 2 different types of juice, orange and apple, and water.6. It's good value for money. 3 nights in March 2024 for £120pp (I have a blue light card, so we had a 5% discount).7. It's disability friendly, and we had a disabled access room, which was really helpful for me as it was spacious and had adaptations. The entrance has a small lift up to the reception, and everything else is flat level.Cons1. No direct dial from your room to reception, which means you have to go up and down if you need anything. We tried phoning reception from our mobile phone using the number to the hotel itself, and there was no answer.2. No wet room type shower. The shower is over the bath, which is very difficult to use if you have mobility issues like I do. The showers would be better as wet rooms for safety reasons.3. The single beds are small. In hindsight, I should have checked this, but after the ads and gallery photos I thought it was going to be a double and single like last couple of times where I took the double and my friend the single. It was 2 singles, but they were far too small for me, and I didn't sleep too well in case I rolled over and fell out. I woke up stiff and sore. If you need more space and have disabilities you would be better checking that you are getting at least a double. The single beds are very low and not easy to stand up from if you have mobility issues.4. The sofas in reception are very low also. Same issues as low beds standing up from seating with mobility issues. All in all, this is a good branch of the hotel chain. I've stayed here before and will again. The cons are mostly resolvable and are something to bear in mind when booking as a disabled person. You'll have a nice stay and a pleasant experience.Rooms: Single beds are too small and low for anyone with physical disabilities. The shower over the bath is not suitable for some types of disabilities. They are otherwise spacious and clean, and housekeeping is as regular as you request it.Food & drinks: I always enjoy the travelodge breakfasts. Plenty of it and very tasty. Good choice of items.Noteworthy details: Very close to quayside and Newcastle city centre. Both are in walking distance

This Travelodge represents some of the poorer ones in the chain. The whole venue is incredibly dated with all spaces including rooms showing a lot of wear and tear. The staff were nice, and it was clean, but it's so far from a standard room from a well known other purple branded chain, I wouldn't book again until this one was refurbished, especially when the city has so much choice.

Booked for same day but mistakenly put the following month on their site. Receptionist terse and unhelpful. Had to ring call centre myself to amend but charged extra £10 admin fee. Could not waive fee allegedly and told I would need to email customer services as no phone. Young lad was obstructive and showed no empathy. Car park is very very tight for vans and ?not their problem? as they don?t own it.Noteworthy details: Some staff surly and unhelpful.

Second time visiting. Spotted a couple of things that could have been cleaned a little better but all things considered for the price it was fine. Just wish people wouldn't run up and down the hallways but that's not on the staff, no complaints at all.Rooms: Room was clean except for underneath the one random chair placed in the corner facing the bed ? only happened to spot it because... We'll call it fun time ?Walkability: Easy to access from city centre.Food & drinks: Hadn't used the bar or food but staff were more than willing to accommodate to us using their glasses, cutlery etc.

Very clean hotel rooms lovely slightly out of the main city centre , drink prices quite expensive be careful they charged me for a double gin instead of single, don't take cash behind bar

We were looking for somewhere for a night stay but made a bad choice at choosing this hotel. The car park is full of litter and absolutely filthy with weird people hanging around it. Plus is cost £8 for 24hour . The hallways in the hotel carpet are filthy dirty. It just doesn?t have a nice feeling about it . Also didn?t sleep very well due to the noise of the traffic . Definitely would never stay here again.

Ideal if you just want a cheap stop over for a boozy night or a gig. I booked same day but after paying it showed I?d booked a date for 3 weeks ahead which I didn?t select. Couldn?t cancel without losing my money so had to pay an additional £20 to get it changed to same day - not happy !! Room is very outdated, was clean and tidy apart from a few minor details. Lass at reception was lovely (only staff member I encountered?) but wouldn?t come back here.
