The room and service was nice, will return. Friendly staff. But the restaurant is poor and far too expensive, don't bother, never thought I'd say this but go to Spoons down the road for food. Hey, nice pint of Guinness though (poured by a robot).

The hotel is fine, but the AC/heating in the room was frustratingly loud. The lighting in the room isn?t great, and my desk light wasn?t working, so I couldn?t work in the room effectively. There was no cleaning of the room during my stay, just the option for them to empty your bin and top up sachets. Not a great business stay, but it was cost effective.

Good location. Staff were friendly & breakfast decent which were the only positive points.I was allocated an accessible room which was awful.Being accessible, it was right next to the lift & stairway, so there was banging doors throughout the whole of the night and I hardly slept. The bathroom smelt very strongly like hospital cleaning agent, which on the positive means it was hopefully clean but it gave me a really bad headache- the windows don?t open & the aircon didn?t work (it did a disco light effect through the night to let me know!)The two single beds pushed together were very low and not comfortable. The bedding was old & bobbly so I ended up checking the bed further & found that under the plastic mattress protector (sweat inducing) found the mattress to be filthy with what looked like blood stains.Suffice to say I won?t book again & have wasted my colleagues.

The welcome we got on check in was very warm and friendly and Ashleigh went out of her way to change the type of room I had booked. The reception area was clean and light and our room was very clean, spacious with a bathroom to match. Good supply of towels, very comfy beds and tea and coffee tray was generous. We stayed for 3 nights and choice at breakfast was good and the hot selection was always nice and hot and tasty. The manager was very friendly and every member of staff we came across were helpful and friendly too. Newcastle people are certainly suited for hospitality, wherever we went the people were friendly and went out of Thursday to help us. Fab weekend and we will certainly return to the lovely city and this hotel

The night staff followed me to my room at 3am and demanded that i kick my girlfriend out on the street, citing that the room was meant for one person. Since when do hotels police bedrooms like a highschool dormitory. I tried to pay for an extra person but they refused and kicked her out, i had to sort her a different place for the night

I have stayed in a lot of budget hotels during my time, but this one is up there with the best. Staff could not have been more helpful, location perfect will definitely stay here again, if you have cause to complain you are looking for something.

We had a great stay here at Travelodge Quayside. The family room was huge, ample space even with a king bed and two pull out beds. The hotel was spotless throughout and the staff go above and beyond for guests. Be aware that parking on site is very limited but there are alternatives at a reasonable price near by. The hotel is perfectly situated on the banks of the river Tyne offering great views and an abundance of local eateries and history. A wide range of options available at breakfast and items are replenished quickly. It is an uphill climb to the city centre but it only takes around 10 minutes to walk. The steps into town are steep but there are many alternate routes (this does take a little longer).

We had a very pleasant stay. The room was clean and quiet. The bathroom was clean. The only downside was the parking. We took a small van and it wouldn?t fit under the car park so we had to park in weatherspoons which is only a couple of minutes walk away but I had to be up by eight to pay for more parking but that seems to be the issue with built up areas there?s always parking problems.

Being right on the banks of the tyne this hotel is in a great position you can have a stroll along the banks of the tyne whichever has plenty of seating four or fiver restaurants with varied menus or you can hop on a bus and be in the city centre in less than ten mins ad the bus stop is only three mins from the hotel

Clean room, very welcoming, nice staff, close to town 10 mins walk, close to river Tyne. Breakfast was fine. I was a bit late for breakfast, staff was really kind, didn't rush me, I've enjoyed every moment of my stay

Very enjoyable stay in this newish hotel, 5-6years I was told - were having new carpets fitted when I stayed but no noise and very little mess. Really good to be able to walk along the river right outside and across some bridges if you so wish, but town was not too far away and also easy to walk to. Very handy for the castle and cathedral visiting.
