Worst customer service experience that I have ever received. Was informed, even though I have other accounts with Nationwide as well, that I?m not to come into branch again because I had opened my account online. Therefore was not privy to service. If I?m a customer of a bank I should receive service regardless. Some things will undoubtedly require in person service. Complained to the supervisor who disagreed that the teller wasn?t rude for telling me to handle it myself in the future. Then complained further up who also agreed with the branch manager. So I?ve arranged to switch banks. Yes banks are all going online but a customer is a customer. If I?m not a customer then I will go to somewhere that offers service both online and in person. If there is a customer standing infront of you then you serve them, don?t tell them they aren?t supposed to get served. Certain they wouldn?t treat a millionaire this way. Had the complaints department patronising me with: ?I?m sorry You felt that way? meanwhile disagreeing with me that the teller was not rude nor the supervisor even though they were not there. I?m so glad that they are sorry i felt that way instead of addressing the tone of their staff or attempting to make changes to the policy of having an account that they will refuse a customer in person service on. Customer service without the service. The monitor on here?s response about ?not explained to me clearly? Is unacceptable. A customer is a customer. Send my review to your policy team and consider reviewing your customer services provisions or lack of! Absolutely delightful that the response to my review places the blame of poor or lacking customer service and bad tone on me versus the teller, branch supervisor and the actual prison by nationwide of an account that offers no service. Bizarre stance. As I?ve mentioned I have other accounts AND I?m one of your customers and customers receive something called customer service. I have money at your financial institution so I get service. It?s how it works.

They asked for a proof of address that was not listed on their website, basically told me what I should do with my money, expressed disbelief that I had an address even when proof was right in front of them, witheld my verification documents even when I requested them to give them back to me to wind me up. Customer service was very bad, and the staff "gang up" against you instead of helping the customer. If they are doing that they are not doing what they are supposed to do. The staff at the counter who was supposed to help was incompetent and seemd like a new hire who didn't know anything. Too bad for them, they have now lost a customer and I will be telling all my friends and family how bad their customer service is.

Trying to open a bank account for my sibling and Nationwide keeps changing their mind on what they want from us. We emailed the university to get the letter the bank wanted, got what the university knows to be the correct letter and the bank still isn't happy. We've been obstructed and messed about at every turn and I recommend you open a bank account ANYWHERE else.Unfortunately Google won't let me give 0 stars

Just called in today, to familiarize myself with what will be my Local branch, as my existing accounts are transferring there to Nationwide, this Monday, and wanted advise on setting up accounts and investments. All of the staff there attentive, knowledgeable and very helpful. Also the new account has been set up online and post, without a single hitch, I didn't know service like this existed anymore, It appears to be, here, at The Nationwide, Banking now, im a Happy Bunny, or will be on Monday.
