Stayed here for one night the room was exceptionally clean and tidy. Comfy bed and nice selection of tea coffee and biscuits. Nice clean bathroom and towels. Breakfast was lovely, especially the poached eggs. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed here overnight on Saturday 29th July 2023 whilst visiting the Brecon Beacons training for our charity trekking trip over the Alps. Stayed in Room 6. I was a nice size, 2 big front windows, very comfy bed, had extra pillows, hairdryer, iron etc and was spotlessly clean. Nice sized bathroom and big shower area with plently of hot water and again spotless. Considering it is a "Wetherspoons' pub essentially, open til after midnight and it was a busy weekend - there was very little noise to be heard from downstairs or from patrons tripping to the bathrooms. Even with the 2 bedroom windows open it wasn't noisy outside. All in all a decent nights sleep. OK so evening dinner is not gourmet cuisine - but to be fair we were hungry from the mountains, the price is cheap and it included a pint of beer - so 2 meals and 4 pints under £29 - not complaining at that. Good rage of ales and ciders - Suggest the Leffe and Rutland Beast as they were really decent. Also unlimited teas, coffees and hot chocolates for only £1.45 Breakfast was much better and quite tasty, eggs cooked to order and as requested, nice sausage (for a chain) and decent bacon with plenty of toast. Cant go wrong for the price. All staff were friendly and attentive and helped find suitable (free) parking - as there is none on site. Thanks Dewi and Andy.

Stayed here as all the hotels nearer the Hay Festival were booked/extortionate. Couldn?t be more pleased, professional staff booked us in and explained everything we needed. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean , tea/coffee and biscuits all provided. We had an evening meal and breakfast which was delicious and tremendous value. Definitely recommend this hotel, thanks to all the staff.

Didn't stay here just called in for a meal. The 'gormet' steaks were tough, tasteless and cold! The waitress said' the suppliers sometimes send good steaks and sometimes they send poor ones'! Amazing! We settled for two burgers which were again cold and tasteless! If you go to Brecon keep away from the half empty excuse for a food outlet!

Food was absolutely dreadful, Came to us cold, Had to send it back and it was still cold when we had it for the second time, Would not recommend eating at the George in Brecon. Certain members of the staff are rude. Not a very enjoyable experience for us! Absolutely terrible. Plus the food tasted like soap and made me and my family sick

What a difference a week makes. Fabulous food, piping hot, great chips and swift cleaning of tables. Last week was a disaster and so disappointed. This week was brilliant . We'll Worth a visit when in Brecon highly recommended.

A couple of nights stay in Brecon whilst exploring the Beacons and waterfall country was fantastic thanks to the staff of the George hotel. The rooms are absolutely lovely, clean, comfortable and well decorated (I have to admit I was expecting something basic, so was surprised and happy to be wrong about that). Right in the centre of Brecon so you can eat cheaply at the hotel or explore the town. The central location makes it a great base for anyone hiking around the many places of interest associated with the Brecon Beacons. Good hotels can sometimes be let down by their staff but at the George the staff couldn't do enough to make the visit special. Being disabled I always get anxious about sleeping somewhere new but nothing was too much trouble for the managerial staff to accommodate my needs. I will definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you all at The George, you are leading the way in hospitality!

You allow drunks inside at 8 am but you wouldn?t allow 6 tidy people and a dog to have a drink at one of numerous empty beer garden tables. The dog is cleaner than some of your customers. Why ? did we smell to nice? We were really disappointed when we were asked to leave.

Room very clean and good value food and drink being a Wetherspoons pub. I would certainly stay there again. My only gripe was parking which isn?t really the hotel?s fault but car owners need to know - the nearest are shoppers parking with only two hours available so a little search needed to find longer stay parking. However, although parking overnight from 6pm is free, tickets are only available for the day so you will need to get to your car by 8am the next day to get another ticket. No lie in as a solo traveler!

Great little stop over after a day in the Beacons. Nice room , service and the staff were very helpful. Would definitely stay there again and use as a base for more adventures in the Brecon Beacons. Excellent value for money.
