“Great location in-between Brecon town & Hay. A gorgeous coaching in with tasteful and claiming interiors that respond well to the grade two architecture. Check in was welcoming and wholesome family running the B&B. Room 5 was delightful with super king bed and art wallpaper for a cwtchy interior. Sparkling clean bathroom too. Breakfast was filling and accommodating for Veggie options.”

“Visited here for an afternoon tea. Service was very good and staff were friendly but efficient. Food was delicious, comprised of finger sandwiches (4 fillings each), half a fresh scotch egg, fresh salmon roll and a variety of cakes and followed by scones, clotted cream and strawberry jam. Accompanied by a pot of tea or coffee. Very reasonably priced at £22.50 per person. Have recommended to friends already! Thank you to the team for a great afternoon.”

“Had Sunday lunch here recently. Can honestly say this was the best Sunday lunch I have had in a pub or restaurant. Loads of food. Great value for money. There were 8 of us at the table. Nothing was to much trouble 10 out of 10 all round.”

“We stayed for 2 nights dinner bed and breakfast. We also took our Cocker Spaniel with us and he was made to feel very welcome in our room and the restaurant. The room was very comfy and even had covers on the seat for our dog, it was very warm but we were staying on the hottest weekend of the year. It was a great base for exploring and walking in the Brecon Beacons. The highlight however was the food, it was some of the best food we have ever tasted and the side dishes fri the kitchen garden were wonderful, my wife is still talking about the tomato salad we shared with our Hake and Louise’s Cauliflower based vegetarian main. The other evening we had the steak and the cod loin again perfect. The beer and wine were also really good and a great selection. We will definitely be back.”

“We always go for a posh Sunday lunch at Llangeod Hall when we visit Brecon and they never disappoint 10/10 for the delightful food and presentation. 11/10 for the lovely Japanese lady that served us with a constant friendly smile. And 10/10 for the lovely quiet ambiance and peaceful lunchroom. We can’t wait to visit again next year. Also this hotel also delivered each course with just the right amount of waiting time between each meal so you don’t feel rushed and can’t let each meal go down a bit before the next course comes out. Thanks guys !”

“After arranging a mid-week meet up with a friend, we decided on an early evening meal in the Wellington Hotel.A rather large & imposing looking building in the centre of Brecon, the interior offers a calmness away from the hubbub of town.Spacious, immaculate & tastefully decorated, the Wellington is full of surprises & the lovely staff were very smiley, polite & attentive. We ordered our food from the main menu, as these meals were on a 30% discount promotion. We both had burgers, one cheese & bacon & one Signature. They were both plentiful & delicious & we highly recommend them.We are looking forward to our next visit & encourage you to try a meal at the Wellington Hotel, if you haven't already.”

“3* hotel with 5* service. Yes the rooms are a bit tired but beds are super comfy, water- bath and shower- was hot and you have everything you need- toiletries, fluffy towels, biscuits etc. Location is stunning. Lovely views and a couple of minutes walk from town. Hotel has bags of history attached- obviously the castle is a high point and the hotel is the oldest in Wales. Our evening meal was outstanding- far exceeded our expectations for a 3* hotel. Same with breakfast. But what makes this place is the staff. They can’t do enough for you and are so friendly. Mackenzie on reception went above and beyond for us. Will definitely be back.”
