Good charity, but I believe charities has to be cheaper than normal. Because they will help to people with money. They shouldn't sell the things with high price. People leave the thing without money. If they sell cheaper they can collect more money to charity.

Every so often one of those semi-mythical people who has great, expensive taste and an aversion to eBay ends up in a charity shop with a bag of clothes. Last time this happened was in British Red Cross. Across the store, beautiful clothes in my size were scattered. Chilli Pepper vest tops in a choice of white or black. A Next skirt in a gorgeously subtle patchwork quilt pattern. All still with labels on. This is the urban myth that keeps us all going to charity shops, come true. Like me, the staff here were quite overwhelmed by this person's generosity. They had put a few of these items in the window just ten minutes before we came in, and weren't surprised when my friend immediately snapped them up. Eagle-eyed people like my mate Becca do make it hard to get the good items, but it is certain worth popping in ever now and again to see what British Red Cross have got in. URBAN CHALLENGE: Take your time over the clothes here. It's often worth it.

There's a number of charitable causes that I like to support, but I still always prefer to buy things from the British Red Cross wherever possible. They do the most amazing work in war torn areas around the world, and are led by such compassionate values that I totally trust their mission! They also take huge personal risks to protect and save the lives of others... really very commendable. Shopping at British Red Cross charity shops is always a pleasant experience as well. They tend to be modern, well laid out, and always stocked with some great stuff. This shop is particularly good for books and can be good for clothing as well. Prices are really reasonable, and the service is impeccable. A great charity shop in anybodies book!

When I think of the British Red Cross I remember selfless acts of kindness and war films with red cross lorries with supplies being sent to distant lands, and helping people who are in crisis. The shop is well kept, well stocked with clothing, books, games, music vinyl, painting frames and other bits and bobs. Trying to find something through the selection requires some patience and a bit of time. You can sometimes be surprised to find a treasure in between all the rummaging.

Full of your standard charity shop fare, British Red Cross will sell you clothing, books, toys and so much more. I had a slightly stressful experience as foolishly decided to go here on a Saturday, never a good idea when you want a good rifle. I managed to get a cheesy romance novel, somewhat of a secret passion of mine and also got a lovely new black necklace. The staff were a delight as expected in these volunteering roles, doing a great duty for The British Red Cross whilst doing it with a smile, you can't help but admire these people. Albany road is a charity shop haven and when you want your fill of charity shops then this is your place to go. With all those saved pennies you can grab yourself a nice slice of cake and a coffee as Albany road is full of establishments to suit any snacking budget.

The British Red Cross do really good work so I am always more than happy to support them (obviously, true of every single charity shop that I have ever entered, but I particularly like the Red Cross!). With this in mind, and looking for materials/clothing-to-cut-up for a halloween costume I wandered in. I didn't happen to find anything that I could particularly use but I still found the whole shopping experience to be a delight. The mark of a good shop is when you enjoy your time there despite failing to find what you need. (Yes, the mark of a better shop is actually enjoying the experience AND finding the product...) The staff here are lovely and the prices are really good for some pretty good things. Lots of knick-knacks ready for your perusal.
