Avoid at all costs if you want to post important letters/documents!! I?ve been trying to contact Royal Mail via phone for the last few days with no answer. I?m extremely disappointed. I sent a letter (containing a deadline and important documents on behalf of my mother) this deadline has no passed and will affect us finically, my mum?s anxiety and depression has worsened since this incident. Sent 1st class recorded signed for on the 31/07/23 as there was a deadline that this needed to be received. It?s now 07/08/23 - there?s been no update to the whereabouts of the letter. Disgraceful and extremely unhelpful services from yourselves. When I finally spoke to someone through the Thornhill post office, I was told that all the post had been sent out but clearly my letter wasn?t!! why is the tracking still stating it?s at the Post Office from the date I posted it and then being palmed off with the same number that rings for 15mins and then gets cuts off, they never answer the phone.

Post lots of parcels and tend to avoid this place unless desperate. Rulers out, if a few mm over you?re being penalised, and I mean mm not cm.

I asked for and paid for 30 2nd class christmas stamps. Should have counted them before I left the shop as when I went to use them a week later I found I only had 28! They had been safely tucked inside a pocket in my handbag which I hadn't used since. Not impressed. Lesson learnt. Hold up the que and count them all again before leaving the shop.

My husband visited today to return a parcel which had free postage if he produced a QR code. He has not previously done this (which he explained to the lady server) and showed her the code as instructed online. He was told to go to the printer and print off the return label himself. He thought this strange because the online guidance said that the post office would print the label. After he tried twice, the printer only produced 2 blank pieces of paper? He returned to the lady server to query this and showed her the e-mail he had about the QR code. She then said that he should've shown her this previously and now she could now print the label? She then charged him 35p x 2 for the blank printer paper! He did argue his case and said that as he was new to all of this, had she asked, he would have have shown her the email earlier, but she was not having any of it! He paid the 70p and left, but needless to say we shan't be using this post office again! Customers beware!

It's quite hard to become that excited by a post office, so I'm not going to try overly hard to get you excited. But if you need an over-sized letter or a parcel sent then you should probably head along to the Thornhill Post Office. At the moment it looks abandoned and closed, but don't let that put you off, this is only because of a load of renovation and extension work that the big Sainsbury's supermarket are doing next door. There's a sign on the window to encourage you to come in and continue to use their service. At the very far end of a blank and stripped down room there are two little windows with people waiting patiently to take your parcel, it'd be a rubbish place for hide and seek, but I suppose that's not really one of their main selling points.
