I came in for dinner, the place was grubby and dirty and there was a lump of hair in my food. Even prior to that the food was greasy and unappetising. Avoid at all costs! I should have gone with my gut when I walked in. Will never go there again ?

No hello in response to good morning no please and no thank you the only word I got was the actual cost of the goods purchased. Being polite cost nothing!

£100 parking fine for innocent mistake thinking it was free on Sundays. The pub should listen to all these terrible reviews about similar situations and make sure their experience is a bit more welcoming. It may not be directly their fault but they must do something about it as the car park is linked to them

Do not park anywhere near this property. I didn?t park in the car park yet still managed to get a fine for parking on a neighbouring street with no signs! The fine was £100 for 20 minutes when the pub wasn?t even open. The fine goes straight to the pub so it?s obviously been set up as a profit maker. Avoid this place or risk getting scammed.

I am in my 60's and I can honestly say, without a doubt that I have never, in all of my life ever met anyone that I dislike enough to recommend this establishment to. When I entered the first thing that hit me was the smell !!! very unpleasant, sort of flowery chemically smell, not sure if it was toilet cleaner or carpet cleaner, but it was awful! I was the only customer. I had a glass of wine....it was so good I left it on the table. I would have not bothered to do a review of this place, it was so unmemorable and mediocre it did not deserve a review, not good enough for a good review and not bad enough for a bad one but! The barmaid was bored, sat on a stool with nothing to do, but serve me...so you think she would have mentioned that you have to put your car reg into the console, wherever it is hidden!!!! I suspect they do not encourage that sort of behavior, as probably the only income this pub gets is from parking fines. £3.10 for a glass of battery acid and £100 to park. (that's the twist) Lucky for me, I was working, so I got a receipt and was therefore able to prove that I was an actual customer and got the parking fine cancelled. But even so, it still leaves a bad taste in the mouth, literally!.

Very Very bad ? they are ripping people off in my village, why are the prices +£0.50 to £1.00 greater than tesco & asda, I think they are a waste of space

My partner and I recently visited the Lewis Arms for a few drinks of an evening. I am not even sure where to start! The first round of pints tasted of line cleaner. The staff behind the bar got annoyed when I politely mentioned it, the gent behind the bar was clearly intoxicated which we thought was a tad unprofessional and off putting! For such a lovely area it?s full of aggressive drunks! And don?t park in the car park unless you remember to put your reg behind the bar or the conman of an owner will pocket 80£ off you. A really disgusting pub for such a lovely area. Will never be returning and will insure all my friends and other mums at the school run know to avoid!

I use this shop regularly and am local. It doesn't deserve some of the poor reviews It has. It has a good mix of product at a reasonable price considering it is a small shop. It has good opening hours. It also has a post office and they do collect pluss. If you engage with the staff they are friendly and try to do their best and they tried to do their best in covid times too. There is sometimes a bit of a language barrier but overall it's an increasingly useful and valued asset to the village.

My husband was recommended the Lewis Arms in Pentyrch for Friday steak night. We decided to give it a try. I must be honest I thought it was too good to be true......2 steaks with the trimmings and a bottle of wine for £25. We were certainly not dissappointed. 2 sirloins cooked to perfection and lovely bottle of red wine. Excellent value. Car parking is free if you use the pub - as long as you enter your registration of the screen inside the pub. The owner/chef came out after our meal and had a very sociable chat with us regarding feedback. Defiantely recommend the Lewis Arms

Visited briefly for the first time recently with a friend. Quite down at heel place which clearly has had no real investment in it for years. A small group of loud and intoxicated youngsters were amusing themselves at the pool table. Left after 30mins to visit the Kings Arms instead which is the polar opposite, superb venue. A week or 2 later I received a £100 parking fine for using the pub car park and not entering my vehicle registration in the console within the pub!!! I saw no sign in the car park when I arrived. It was dark and I'd guess the sign wasn't illuminated. I didn't see any console in the pub and the barman made no effort to ask if we'd used the car park or explain the parking rules. I wondered how the place was surviving when I visited. Now I know how they've been making their money and it's clearly not from the food and drink. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!

At the front of the pub. Darts, Jukebox and a game of pool with a good friendly upbeat atmosphere. And the restaurant at the back of the premises offers good food for dining at competitive prices.. also a nice change of pace in a quiet corner for a relaxing drink with a partner or freinds. Highly recommended.

Don?t even drive into the car park unless you are visiting the pub itself. We were in there for 37 minutes to use the children?s nearby park and didn?t see the tiny parking warning! I had 28 days to pay £100 reduced to £60 if paid in 14 days. Group Nexus which is a London based parking sent the fine to my home address demanding payment. I appealed the parking notice but it was not upheld, saying the signs were of standard size! Shame on you Lewis Arms for the money making SCHEME you are associated with!!!!

My time in this (empty) car park over-ran by 60 seconds. I'm now facing a charge of £140.00. Multiple calls to the management, no one wants to help. I'm actually living paycheck to paycheck with a young family, and truthfully can't afford this. This kind of callous greed and unusual lack of compassion is unlike anything I've experienced at a pub before. Depressing.
