Stayed in the lovely Can-Y-Bae over the victorian extravaganza. The hotel is full of character and very homely. The staff were extremely helpful and caring. We were treated to complimentary drinks in the sister hotel due to bar currently not being open which is understandable at this time of the year but the central hotel where we had the drinks was a lovely modern hotel which you can see and they are still in the process of renovation it. The breakfast was also one of the best we have had as it was cooked to our preference and plenty of options. Thanks once again to all staff.

These other reviews make it seem like we were in a completely different hotel. ? Where to start with this place? My stay at the Can-Y-Bae hotel was utterly disappointing. First off, the hotel doesn?t provide parking so you have to drive around the block non-stop till you find a lot, before realising the lot isn?t meant to be used overnight, and that your best bet are the lots along the beach (which are valid from evening until the next morning). Except everybody else parks there! Seriously, we were driving around for 45 min or so just to find parking and were about to settle for a lot that was a 10-min walk away, before a space opened up just about in front of the hotel. Talk about lucky. The hotel experience was then marred by a cacophony of creepy draft noises in our room that made sleep nearly impossible. Thank God we were actually so exhausted from being on the road for nearly 8 to 10 hours every single day cos otherwise we wouldn?t be able to sleep. The plumbing emitted such a foul stench that one of our aunt?s rooms had to get changed. All the other rooms also had a weird smell about them and it was hard to spend any time in the bathroom. And don't get me started on the decor; it felt like I had stepped into a time capsule from the '40s or ?50s. IF you can even step on the creaking floor cos it?s all wonky and caved in and stuff.I don?t know if it?s just our bad luck and we all landed bad rooms in this hotel, but we couldn't wait to check out of this place. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I don?t generally review places badly as a principal, but this is one dismal exception.

Booked sea view room in Can-y-Bae some months ago for a few days in September, having visited this hotel for many years. We were informed on arrival that the owners had recently left, and were offered a rear view room with views of drain pipes and brick wall. Agreed to move into the Central hotel next door, as the Central was now running Can-y-Bae and breakfasts were only provided in the Central. To say that the room in the Central was tired would be overly generous. Amongst many issues of decor, the carpets were dirty, there were bare electricity wires in the bathroom light as the rose had fallen down from the ceiling, and the curtains would not close properly. Also, the lift was broken and we were disappointed with the quality of room daily housekeeping. To be fair, the manageress of the Central was doing her best to deal with our, and other peoples, issues, but I think she is fighting an uphill battle.

Disappointing as it seems the owners left the business a month ago and it is being looked after by the Central Hotel next door. We were not made aware of this although I booked in April 2023. There was a note on the door on arrival to go next door. Very nice lady took us to our room but we were told breakfast would be served in the Central. Twin room small and dated. We didn't go for breakfast as considered having to go next door unacceptable without prior advice and reviews of Central not good. Very disappointed. Thankfully the show we had come to see was brilliant.

We enjoyed a wonderful 2 nights at Can-Y-Bae. The location is perfectly situated near the water. Our room had a sea view. Hosts were friendly and helpful. They provided local tips for a meal and some sightseeing ideas. Our breakfast was fantastic. The hotel has a lift (elevator). You do need to manage some stairs for breakfast. The location was an easy walk from the train station. We will stay again next time we visit Llandudno. A short walk to the pier, shops, and eating.

Stayed here for a few nights for our wedding anniversary, and had absolute first class service. The hotel was spotless throughout, the room was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely Welsh slate touch on the light pull for the bathroom, breakfast was fabulous, with personalised service and the whole feel of the place is like being among friends. Dave and Michael really do their best to make it an enjoyable experience for every guest who walks through their door

I?ve been staying at the wonderful Can-Y-Bae two or three times a year for the last 14 years. Michael and Dave have been exemplary hosts and welcome guests with efficiency, charm and humour. Nothing is too much trouble, on top of which welcoming beloved pets haS meant that our visits to Llandudno with Squib were perfect family outings. Thank you both for all your kindness these past 14 years. XXX

A really lovely stay for a work conference. Excellent breakfast, comfortable room with everything I needed. Right on the prom with the beach straight across which was delightful for a morning stroll. It has a great atmosphere and the owners were so friendly and helpful. I managed to park on the street and paid the daily charge via the pay by phone app which was very reasonable compared to back in Cardiff! I wouldn?t hesitate to recommend to anyone visiting Llandudno for business or leisure!

After driving all day my son and I received a very warm welcome on our recent business trip to Llandudno. The Can Y Bae Hotel is a characterful period property. We had reserved a twin room which was well appointed, comfy and clean. After a good night's sleep we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. The proprietors were extremely friendly and accommodating. I look forward to being able to return and would happily recommend to friend and family.
