Tucked away in a housing estate this lovely little boutique hotel is a real gem. Beautifully styled & decorated with buckets of period features.Reception staff were friendly but spa staff were sadly lacking & really didn't seem interested to even tell us where to find towels. There's a lovely little outdoor pool but seemed to be reserved only for "special guests" which was a shame. The pool is quite small & there's a sauna but otherwise there's not much to the "spa". It became quite busy & not everyone had a lounger to relax on.Coffee in the bar area was lovely & bar staff great! Our room was large and perhaps a little under furnished but with a nice bathroom and wonderful power shower. The jewel in this crown though was Bloc Restaurant. Fantastic ambiance and food to match! Absolutely outstanding quality, amazingly attentive staff especially Ferne, so would return for the restaurant alone.Breakfast was served in another gorgeous, light filled part of the building where the chefs prepared your food in sight, beautifully fresh & well presented with plenty of choice. Could not fault it!

You can actually enjoy great food here and sit outside if it isn't raining in Wales ;) I've already done that a few times. The spa at least drives many guests to this hotel on weekends. Unfortunately I can't say anything personal about it. It looks very inviting. But I would book here immediately. It's remote, but that doesn't matter for a spa weekend.

Located just off the M4, this hidden gem in the middle of an estate exceeded our expectations. My partner had booked it as a Christmas gift, and the spa experience was absolutely delightful. The highlight was undoubtedly the outdoor pool, which provided a refreshing and relaxing ambiance, especially as we could have a few drinks in it, served by the spa staff.Visiting on a Tuesday evening, we practically had the entire place to ourselves, creating an intimate and exclusive atmosphere. We opted to stay in the Harwich suite, which, while satisfactory, didn't quite match the allure depicted in the online photos. It could benefit from a bit of tender loving care. The bed, unfortunately, showed signs of age and wear, but the centerpiece of the room, the bath, was a luxurious addition. As the main restaurant was closed during the early part of the week, we dined in the bar. While the menu was decent, the food itself was rather basic. Disappointingly, the chicken burger we ordered was overcooked and burnt, and for the price of £18, it fell short of our expectations.Nonetheless, the overall experience at this charming establishment was delightful. The staff were friendly and welcoming, ensuring that our stay was enjoyable and memorable.Rooms: Room is in need of TLCNoteworthy details: Tesco is just up the road, very handy if you just want to stay in your room and have a few snacks.

This place has finally hit the nail on the head by adding its new steak restaurant Blok.I have visited Lanelay several times over the years, for spa days (beautiful spa one of the most modern around) but evening stays have been limited as there was previously no restaurant on site.We visited Blok this evening and WOW what incredible food and service. This hotel and spa is finally the full package when it comes to a perfect night away!Rooms: Gorgeous rooms - we have previously stayed in one of the suits with the bath in the bedroom.Nearby activities: Talbot Green Shopping Centre.Food & drinks: Amazing food and drinks in the new Blok restaurant.
