Contacted ammo has I had concerns regarding my timing chain on my 2010 bmw diesel E47 engine I was unaware that the timing chains only had a lifespan of 100000 miles and should be replaced. I found this out as a friend Simon Goff recently had his timing chain snap and Ammo did the repair. Ammo told me what to check to identify if the chain needed replacing which is basically a rattling sound on initial start up from cold. Surely enough my car had this noise. Contacted Ammo who fitted me in within 3 days. Left the car with him Thursday evening had the car back Saturday lunchtime. Did a complete clutch kit and replaced the broken crankcase pulley. Ammo sent me a video as work was proceeding showing the broken crankcase pulley and engine out. Work was carried out very quickly and Ammo was great to deal with. Would recommend great work.

Timing chain snapped on my BMW, got it picked up and fixed within 48 hours for a great price. Sent me video of the damage and a 12 month warranty. Lived up to his reviews. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend! Thank you

These lads are excellent! All the reviews are backed up by the service. Had a few issues with my 3 series, abs sensor, abs rings, diff was on its way out, and had a misfire issue that no other garage could seem to solve, I changed the spark plugs and coil packs as recommended by other garages but the problem still persisted. These lads said it was an injector straight away, injector changed, problem solved. Wish I?d just gone to them first time. Handed the car over on Thursday, got it back on Friday afternoon. Everything done. At a fraction of the cost of anywhere else.Keep doing what your doing lads, great service! Can?t fault it.Callum

I had a fuel pump failure on my BMW the evening prior. After calling several other garages the following morning, Ammo was extremely accommodating to my schedule and circumstances. After I sourced the part from a nearby store, he fitted and fixed my car the same day even though he had multiple other clients.Highly recommend and I've now found my garage of choice in Newport.

I recently moved into the area of Newport. Unfortunately I had a lot of steam coming from my bonnet (BMW 435D) after one of my travels. I called this company - liaised with Amir but he was fully booked until the end of next week. He very kindly asked me to bring the car to him on the same day I called and instantly diagnosed the problem (broken water pump). He said he will try and get it done ASAP but looking at the end of next week. 2 days later he called me and said my car was done. Reviewed the car and it was indeed back to its normal self. Very respectable price and I actually left a small tip to show him my gratitude. Very nice bunch. I would recommend without reservation and have found my permanent mechanic at Newport. Had the timing chain go on my bmw 118d. Ammo quoted half the price of anyone else. Ammo went out of his way and worked until 10pm to get my car sorted. He sent me all the photos of damage and repairs. I had my car back fully working, cleaned within 24 hours. Ammo also fixed some other minor issues which I didn?t even tell him about all within the same cost. You can?t fault this guy, he really knows his stuff. My BMW will not be going anywhere else in the future. Big thanks again Ammo for such amazing friendly service.

Rang the garage after many recommendations from other BMW enthusiasts.Ammo turned up and checked the car over diagnosed I needed a new engine and got to work.... the car was lifted to his work shop late monday night and I have just drove it home!He sourced, built and fitted an engine in 48 hours... the car feels better than ever can't wait to break it in..Cheers boys ?10/10 service

10/10 Took my 3 series to multiple places witch failed to diagnose the issue correctly, called Ammo up and he had me in the next day and did a full diagnostics and found the issue, showed me the exact part I needed and had it fitted on the day it arrived and now runs better than ever with great advice on after care as well.Extremely competitive prices !!CANT RECOMMEND ENOUGH !!

I cant recommend Ammo Ali and his team at The Engine Centre Newport enough. I had a timing chain replacement along with a new clutch and flywheel on my BMW F20 118D, the car drove superb afterwards and the job was really affordable. Ammo's knowledge and experience of these cars is as good as the dealership. They also got the job done quickly too which minimized my time without the car. He also fixed a fault with my flex pipe at the same time at a fraction of the cost it would have cost me usually. I'm definitely going back.Services: Oil change

I was in a crisis when I contacted Ammo and so stressed because I was due to travel on holiday.I?d taken my car to mechanics who didn?t fix the issue with my BMW X1.It was burning oil and severe smoke coming from the exhaust. Ammo looked at it the following day and went out of his way to fix it the morning I left for our holiday. Broken timing belt and engine damage on BMW, Ammo was recommended and was so helpful on the phone. Got the car to him Tuesday, called by Wednesday to find the engine out and Ammo and his staff working away. He explained what damage had been done and showed me the failed components. Ammo told me the car would be ready Thursday and true to his word, it was. Ammo insisted I test drive the car before payment. Absolutely great, old fashioned service from a gent who believes in helping his customers who are so worried about car problems. He is reassuring and the price he quotes is the price you pay. He is a credit to his trade and I have no hesitation in recommending him. Thank you Ammo for the help, repairs and reassurance. It is so much appreciated.
