Excellent food, friendly service. But wooden floors and sparce furnishings mean the acoustics are awful. Go for the food but not any conversation. (O, and there's music, of course, but fairly quiet).

Second visit and just as good as the first- which was excellent! Well.worth a visit for breakfast lunch or dinner. Check opening times as they are mainly during the latter part of the weekSunday lunch takes sone beating!Food & drinks: Excellent choice of dishes, beautifully cooked and presented. Staff are brilliant, helpful and efficient.Great atmosphere too!

Out for Sunday Lunch. 6 adults with 2 very well behaved dogs. We had a very spacious table. Service was excellent from the word go. Lovely starters, salmon something and arancini balls. All main courses, beef, turkey, chicken were nicely nicely prepared, very tasty and good size portions. Tom, who was our main server, was very attentive and engaged well with us (and is a real character with a great sense of humour). Why not 5 stars? Very close to being but there were a few things that lost some points. The food wasn't as hot as it should have been, the cauliflower cheese was hardly cheesy and finally, no cranberry sauce to go with the turkey. I'm sure these points will be noted so well recommended and we will be back!

Had Sunday lunch on the lodge today. The food was excellent. The potato, chorizo and egg starter was very tasty. For mains my partner had chicken and I ordered rare beef. The meat was excellent and together with the sides it was a very good lunch. However, the half full restaurant was soooo noisy. With no carpet and all hard surfaces the sound bounces around. We've eaten in The Lodge on a number of occasions but they have added additional tables so parties are sat closer together. We found the experience uncomfortable and would not return until this is addressed.

Visited the restaurant on the Thursday Steak Night. Our whole party commented on how beautifully cooked and presented our meals were. We had steaks which were delicious and perfectly cooked.Nothing in the area compares to the quality of our meal. Highly recommend.

We stayed here on July 22nd 2023for a wedding we were attending.We initially booked & paid for two nights, but the lodge wouldn't refund us for the 21st we were cancelling, which we tried to do over a week in advance , so that sucked! when you arrive it's all very faulty towers! there is ONE GUY running everything, which of course he can't as our stay proved. The double room we'd paid for twice only catered for one person, one DIRTY TOWEL WITH SCORCH MARKS ALL OVER IT, JUST one coffee cup.(FOR A DOUBLE ROOM BOOKED FOR TWO) The rooms have been decorated by a rank ameteur, and the plumbing and wiring I suspect is simply not upto the seventeenth edition. Everything is half done and here are just some, and by no means exhaustive examples; In bed rooms and in the dining room, The 32 AMP final circuit cables are surface clipped , you know, workshop or garage style.NOT EVEN ENCLOSED IN SURFACE MOUNTED TRUNKING! the radiators are connected up, NOT with pipework but FLEXIBLE TAP CONNECTORS! again, I think that this is NOT COMPLIANT WITH BASIC BUILDING REG'S! . but in any event, you cant get more towels or anything because this one guy is literally running around like Basil Faulty from a 1970's sit' com' hotel!AND DON'T THINK IT ENDS THERE! As for the full breakfast which we paid £24 for TWICE totalling £48 ...IT WAS A TOTAL INSULT...A TOTAL TOTAL UTTER INSULT, I don't know where their WEB site meal photo's came from, but DON'T expect anything like those pictures! We were offered a self service buffet consisting of completely COLD BACON. NO EGGS, SCRAMBLED OR FRIED WERE LEFT IN THE BUFFET STYLE BAR! . AND GET THIS...NO ORANGE JUICE AND ..NO COFFEE WAS EVEN AVAILABLE! There were some mutilated hash brown shapes that were dripping with fat and a slice of lemon...AND WHEN YOU FINALLY TRACK DOWN BASIL FAULTY..HE TELLS YOU THAT IF YOU WANT A COFFEE YOU HAVE TO PAY OVER SEVEN POUNDS AT A COFFEE COUNTER!!! SO AFTER PAYING £48 FOR TWO BREAKFASTS THAT WERE AN INEDIBLE INSULT...WE HAVE TO PAY THE THICK END OF TEN POUNDS TO GET A LUKE WARM CAPPACCINO!Honestly appalling as is usual in England these days..THIS COUNTRY HAS ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA OF PREPARING ESTABLISHMENTS AND SERVICE. This so called hotel is more like a fifth rate motel in some remote backwaterAND AS USUAL THERE SHOULD BE BRITISH STANDARDS AND A BRITISH HOTEL OMBUDSMAN FOR THIS TYPE OF SCAM, BUT YOU KNOW WHAT? THERE ARE OMBUDSMEN OFFICES FOR ALMOST EVERY BUSINESS BUT NOT FOR HOTELS IN THE U.K. So I gueass that's why they get away with it. so overall pretty appalling as expected in England!

My daughter and I went for lunch at the Bistro on Saturday and had the 3 course set menu. The food was absolutely delicious, best lunch I have had in a while. The service from Jade was amazing. I would highly recommend and can't wait to go back to try the dinner menu.
