5 min walk from Atherstone top lock
November 2023 by Celeste Aeron
I haven't used the Atherstone Aldi in a few years. I started to use them again recently and compared to the last time I was there the place has gone downhill. Very dirty, both the environment and the products. I very often leave the shop with dirty fingers and a sore throat because there is so much dust on everything. Some of the shelving system is terrible. They tilt too much and food regularly falls off from being over stacked. Especially the meat section. You lift a pack of chicken off and a dozen others come sliding off all over the place. There are also fairly often leaking meat products which drip all over the place. Some shelves are falling apart and have been like it for months now. For some reason they think tape is good enough to hold kilogrammes of food back. I seem to remember their fresh food being pretty good but what I've been buying lately has been fairly poor quality. The ribeye steak for example doesn't seem like ribeye to me. Tasteless, chewy and seems more like a steak that should be braised. And I'm constantly finding out of date products still on the shelves, some many weeks out of date, and if you point it out to an assistant they act like it's not an issue. I now check everything while there as I got fed up of getting home only to find several of the items I had bought were past their best before date or completely out of date. And can the assistants when working the tills save your conversations with each other until your break or in your free time, rather than in other people's time. That's not what you're paid for. And to other shoppers, if you change your mind about an item, how about taking it back to its original place rather than just dumping it wherever you happen to be at the time.
October 2023 by Nice to meet You
Aldi UK when you done this bag checking rules for the cashiers in the UK, have you thought for one second about what danger you placed them? ?Was Sunday, 22nd of October 2023, anyone in Cambridge, Newmarket Road Aldi around 3.30 pm at the till?Shame to the customer who was on the till 9. How dare you to harass verbally the cashier in the way you do it? She followed the store policy and asked politely to show the receipt of the bag you had on your trolly. If you don't like Aldi's new policy about checking bags, you have a choice - shop elsewhere, or just show your bags and get on with it. Do not make continuous complaints, sarcastic comments, threatening her that"you come with your boys to smash her face"!?!??!How dare you? Was a long line who heard what you said and how professional she reacted. General rudeness to the staff on the till is unacceptable.Just asking people to be nice and not take it out on people who are just trying to do their job. And to the girl in Aldi, you showed great patience, I hope the rest of your shift went better, even if I see that she's crying after the verbal abuser left. ?

Absolutely shocking!! The girls on checkouts are so busy talking to each other about their personal lives and not concentrating on what their doing. I will not be retuning! Kept the lady in front waiting while they continued talking! Very poor service.

Having been to a lot of Aldi's this one has to be the worst for stock and for the head office to be only down the road and don't take notice as to what stores they stock on various products, but not offer that to the closest shop to them is a crying shame.

Not a great experience. Couldn't get to tomatoes because of pallets, more like a warehouse. Lack of choice of meat. One till open. Only went because the only alternative was the coop. And we all know the cost of the coops standard food is a joke.

Aldi is as aldi is... Cheap! Most stuff is good but the so called 'fresh' fruit n veg is a bit of a false economy. You can guarantee the when you get home 20% of the stuff is off or damaged and needs throwing away. When it comes to the fruit n veg...not cheap at all.
