Have been customer with Domestic & General for couple of years now. Had first error with fridge leaking.Tried booking repair online could not find it even when providing plan number. (The tricky part)Called in to customer service, got repair booked in at nearest date possible. Was informed when engineer is able to come out. As well as update on the day an hour prior. Fixed the issue. Within half an hour.Much thanks for peace of mind.(The website repair booking system could use a configuration thus 4 stars)

Left me and my young child without HOT WATER AND NO CENTRAL HEATING FOR 5 DAYS.AND DOMESTIC & GENERAL THINKS ITS OK AND REASONABLE TO WAIT WITH NO HOT WATER OR CENTRAL HEATING.They even said if I get someone local (gas safe engineer), the policy would be void.D&G knows my boiler broke down due to issues with previous inspections that were not carried out professionally by baxi engineers. They kept saying we would call you back within 24 hours, but that never came. Most staff read off a script.Rang domestic & general twice every day, including baxi (the engineers), to see if there are any cancellations or if they can come out with the earliest date possible. They don't care even though I am on the best possible plan (platinum plan) they are good to take my monthly payments, that's all.I've gone elsewhere and cancelled my direct debts with them and told them I would. The advisor wasn't even bothered about this. The boiler is now fixed and running, but I will never go with D&G again. Try others like homeserve or others as they will come out with 48 hrs to you..(I had a sevice from baxi in april 2023, plus 2 other visits same year in May & Aug 2023Each of these visits, I told the engineers that there is water leaking now and again under the boiler but was ignored by engineers to D&G.All it was a valve needed replacing a simple job they couldn't be bothered to do and the water drops knackered the circuit board.Fair play to last baxi engineer who came a few days ago (KG), he fixed the problem (40 mins). At least he did his job where as the previous two engineers were lazy and couldn't be bothered saying keep an eye on the boiler if the pressure goes low then top it up as David told me (baxi engineer).Good luck if you ever get David to fix your boiler. (Looks miserable before he even starts the job, and he's looked at my boiler twice this year and still couldn't fix a little problem on my boiler)*You can see from Louise who has responded from D&G we are not a emergency service (not like you came out before the 5th day).well, if I or anyone has a plan, don't bother calling these guys is what she is saying, your boiler completely brakes down they don't care is probably what she means.. shame on the company and certain staff like Louise who don't care and will not care.

Had a problem with my laptop keys. They repaired them just within a month however upon receiving it back, I found the left speaker was crackling. Trying to get help from them was like trying to squeeze water out of a stone. Now it's costing me over £300 to get it repaired at Apple

Domestic and General was contracted by EDF to do my boiler service. They in turn contracted a company, which caused problems for my boiler. They came to my house to do a boiler service and somehow picked up a there was a gas-leak. This came as a surprise to me because 1. There has never been any gas smell and 2. There was no error code on my boiler. I?m very sceptical about the issue they picked up as I don?t believe it was there in the first place. They turned off my boiler and marked it as unsafe and said they have to book in a repair. Left me without hot water for the weekend.I?ve had to book in a repair for this issue which they picked up from nowhere, with a call out charge of £95.Update. After a whole weekend of not having any water, I am literally shivering, despite it being very hot out there.

I have been a customer of this god awful company for 10 years and recently they have let me down terribly. I?ve had to call the engineer out at least 3 times a year to fix somewhat the same issue over and over. Sometimes in the winter I?ve had to wait days just for an engineer to fix the boiler. They told me low pressure in boilers is common, but now my bathroom tap on warm mode is not working and also on low pressure. This is a very greedy company, and I may be forced to report them to the relevant authorities if my problem is not fixed. I?ve paid all my monthly insurance on time for over 10 years and they keep sending cowboys to fix the issue.I advice everyone to avoid this dodgy company who got lousy, incompetent and greedy personal working for them. They will have you wait days in the snowy winter only for a cowboy engineer to turn up.

Been with them for many years and had multiple appliance's covered until my coffee maker broke, I called the helpline and the machine got few days later picked up and I heard nothing for 4 WEEKS !!!! So I called the helpline and asked where is my coffe maker and waited for few minutes and you wouldn't believe coincidentally the machine supposed to go out next day. And 2 days later I had the coffe maker home but after 2 minutes offPlugin it in I realised it's leaking water so colled the helpline and been told dayafter someone would pick it up so took a day off and waited all day and no one showed up ,on the phone againmade new appointment and finely they manage to pick it up ,few days later I get e massage the machine has been written off and I can choose a new one. so i went on the homepage to choose a new one and I thought what the check this can't be right my coffe maker cost me just over£1000 and I've got a choose range of coffee makers with cost £100 -£600 and for the same model what I had they wanted me to pay additional £500. So I took me another 3 days on the helpline explaining and arguing, all I wanted was the same coffe maker! at the end they sent me the same one for free like I should bee in first place without anything to argue or explain in my opinion. after this experience I cancelled all direct debits and i don't want to have anything to do with them anymore

Worst service I have ever experienced. A month later I am still waiting on outcome on my washing machine. I have had to pay another company to look at the machine. I am still waiting for repayment from Domestic and General. They are supposed to be contacting me with a decision on a replacement machine. I have had to chase everything. This is now far too long to sort this situation out. When you pay out for insurance you expect service.I need a response from you. This is just not good enough.

Awful company. Repairs aren?t completed properly and they drag their feet to replace faulty items. I?ve been waiting for a freezer draw for 2 years, which I was told was on a back log. I?m now being to it?s my fault for not checking back with them why I haven?t received a replacement.Missed days off work. Only to be compensated for a comical amount.A cooker that has had numerous call outs in a year still not working. The sub contractors are useless especially (Dolphin repairs). The staff just read off a script to you.Don?t waste your money.

Domestic & General have cancelled my appointment twice!! There is no communication in what is happening. It is always down to the customer to ring and find out. The advisors are not always helpful and will most of the time blind transfer you. I have a pregnant woman in the household and my heating is not working due to a repair authorised by Domestic and General!! It has almost been over 4 weeks and you have cancelled my appointment twice including today!! Please contact me!! Yes Contact me!!! No body is helping. In a separate matter, an engineer has also damaged my property in the past and domestic and general response was ?take it up with home insurance? how rude!!I am severely stressed and this is affecting my health due to no heating!!!I have a few items covered with you and I will be looking to cancel if there is no resolve!!!!This is a on going issue!!!!!

I would give this zero stars if I could. Took my tv for repair, it was written off. It's been over a month and I still have no tv. Customer service is useless.. they just say there's nothing they can do. Logged a complaint and it's been a week now. They sat they get back to you "within 5 working days " which is complete lies

Two companies that define poor service have to be D&G and Hotpoint. After over 5 weeks of our Hotpoint washer/dryer not working, 3 visits, 1 cancalled visit on the morning of the 4th visit (lost a days leave) we decided to purchase a new machine and cancel the plan. It's been impossible to contact either Hotpoint or D&G and the Bots just add to the frustration. The plan really isn't worth the trouble. My advice would be to save the money from the payments that you would have made and use it to buy a new machine when the time comes as that came next day!

Keep your money in the bank!Feels like I'm hounded every month to add new appliances on from this company.Cookers been broke now for over a month with 3 kids under 10 and we're just told to wait until part and engineer is available.Like I said. Keep your money in the bank. Go straight out and buy a new one when it breaks. Simple and a much faster process than waiting for the claim or the parts. ?
