There was a time this shop was reasonable not anymore. Nearly all BHF stores have increased there pricing strategy and this is not due to the cost of living crisis. This is pure greed and to benefit the pockets on the directors. They want to fleece out people further. Other charity shops a few in the area are not these expensive as compared to this one, they are still affordable. It?s not a charity shop with those values but a profitable business. It?s unbelievable what they charge when you can buy cheaper elsewhere even online if so. They claim every penny helps the charity which is unbelievable as most of there reports points out profits are largely distributed to there directors(78%). BHF business model with collapse one day as greed only leads to this in the end! Now charging £30 for jeans and £60 for trainers second hand is unjustified! Wrongful doing

It is really sorry to see so big prices in charity shops, really because this shops for pure people, who cannot spend much money. And more sad that people who gave donation -give it for free,to help not to do their pockets full. You must think about charity as a helpful organisation, please help people ,don?t use their goodness for bad.I put 2 photos with Chinese shoes ,their price on open market (new) is 8£,it is fake items made in China (used) it cannot be so expensive, and more -all in this shop have so big prices...Very sad ?

So having taken bubble wrap in there loads of times, took three big bags in only to be told no we don't want that... Quite abrupt/unhelpful as well. So now am stood with loads of bubble wrap and feeling why should I bother? BHF you can do better than this.

This is a well-presented charity shop situated on Kings Heath High Street. I rarely find clothes or handbags in here as the kind of stuff they get seems to be more modern, you'd be unlikely to find a novel vintage find in here. They do however, tend to get some good DVDs in although they are a bit pricier than most charity shops I've found some really rare £20+ DVDs in there for a fiver which is pretty good going! The staff are really, really friendly in here, the nice lady who normally works there likes to have a little chat and is keen to help. Another strong point is there is rarely any charity shop musty smell in here, it's very clean and usually smells very fresh!

Many people have bemoaned the fact that Kings Heath High Street has seen an influx of charity shops over the past few years, claiming it has lowered the tone of a once bustling shopping area. I would say that those people have not taken the time to peruse the wares at wonderful establishments such as the British Heart Foundation. Firstly, buying from a charity shop is a good deed, it helps to fund work which will aid the ill and assist in research to prevent further illness. Secondly the British Heart Foundation has some real gems to be found in store. I have often found classic books and DVD's in store which I had long given up hope of locating. Add to this the fact that the volunteers are amongst the friendliest staff you are ever likely to meet and you have a shopping experience which no chain store can even hope to rival.

One of several charity shops on the Kings Heath high street that seems to be growing them now that a lot of the big name brands are deserting the place and leaving empty units behind. As Charity shops are exempt from business rates they are often quick to fill the gaps. The British Heart Foundation shop, however, has been around longer than most and is always worth checking out. It's mostly clothes but there is always a fairly good selection of book and toys, but as usual you are at the mercy of the charity shop Gods in terms of whether you'll find anything decent. I used to live just over the road and often gave them stuff when we had our regular clean outs (of stuff we'd accumulated in charity shops, mostly) and they were always friendly and grateful of the donation.

The ongoing recession has seen a surge in demand for charity shops. Consumerism is still in full force in today's society, we just do not have the funds to support it. So we are increasingly turning to charity shops to fulfill our materialistic desires. British Heart Foundation is a worthy cause. Some would suggest that the NHS should cover all areas of healthcare and charity should be reserved for issues abroad. I agree with this perspective to a certain extent, but I am also thankful for the work the Foundation does in trying to raise awareness of heart related health issues. The British Heart Foundation also puts a great deal of its money into research for medicines that save lives. The selection of books in store is not great. Expect plenty of Mills and Boon and read copies of The DaVinchi Code. The clothing selection is quite nice due to the amount of 18-35's that inhabit the area. I wouldn't have a problem finding something that suits my style and age range in here. Many charity shops operate in Kings Heath and British Heart Foundation is one worth checking out.
