So I?ve been a member since April and I thought I?d finally give an honest review of this David Lloyd.Pros:- the club has a sauna, steam, jacuzzi and swimming pool- they are updating the gym (albeit slowly in phases)- they have a lot of different classes- there is a club room space to sit, relax and order from their restaurant- I have ordered from the restaurant a few times and I like the food.- I had a sports massage with Kathline and she is very skilled!- the gym is very local- for my gym membership type I can access other David lloyds in the area.Cons:- parking area is a bit small with small bays - perhaps i?m a new driver so maybe that?s why I feel that way.- women?s changing rooms having mould and look unpleasant in some areas- if you cancel your classes more than 3 times in 30 days you get a week?s suspension from booking classes?which imo is a joke?im paying £100 for that privilege.- some of the staff are very biased - there have been incidents where some staff members give their fav members extra free guests passes each month, you hear people talking about it in the gym. So don?t expect equal treatment unless you?re very good friends with one of the staff members.- 3 months notice to cancel gym membershipOverall, this gym has its good and bad points. I expect a higher quality at the price I am paying. However, because of how close it is and the convenience of this gym is the reason why I accept the price I pay. I also focus more on swimming and this DL has a nice swimming pool. I am also looking forward to the refurbishments.If you live in Sutton Coldfield/Walmley area however, I would strongly recommend the Belfry or New Hall Hotel?s gym - however there is currently a waiting list for it.But for those in Great Barr who want an all rounded gym with lots of amenities andDon?t mind paying extra for it, then this David Lloyd is your best bet.Update: September 13 2023 - I am adding an extra star because I was working in the club room today and it is actually a very nice vibe and the wifi is pretty stable :)

Had some nice food here. The staff were friendly. The club is being renovated atm which seems badly needed. A lot of broken things, changing rooms pretty gross and quite small.

Great place. More than just a gym and joining was one of the best decisions I?ve made in recent years for the family.Yes there are cheaper gyms out there but for an all round facility for the family, I don?t think you can beat David Lloyd. The outdoor pool in the summer, the gym, the fitness classes and the children?s classes are what sets it apart from other gyms for me.My partner loves it as she can bring our son to the 3-5 year old classes and have a bit of time to herself and workout. My boy loves it because he loves the swimming pool, soft play and seeing his friends and making new ones in the classes. It?s great for me as I can use the gyms up and down the country when I have to travel for work.I?d like to thank the team that run the children?s classes. They are absolutely brilliant with the kids and my boy really enjoys the classes.Lastly I?d like to mention Leon and his Blaze classes. The energy and motivation he brings to the classes is just unreal. As someone who has spent a lot of money on personal training over the years, I can honestly say that Leon?s classes are worth the membership fees on their own.Great gym. Thanks to all the team.

Went through a number of calls, pricing structures, contact forms, direct debit forms and thought I was signed up to become a member.After completing all of these and going back and forth, I was then told I?d have to pay a joining fee on my first visit which wasn?t mentioned in the pricing structure. Disappointed I?ve had my time wasted.Edited: I specifically asked if there were any additional charges and I was told no. I got an apology email from a member of your staff as they were aware they?d not communicated properly.

After having a very insightful tour and signing up to a membership plan, i must say i am quite impressed with the facilities and staff at David Lloyd.I was greeted by a friendly face who then led me on to another member of staff (Josh) who, very patiently, gave me a very in-depth tour of the entire club. As well as explaining everything present and answering my questions, he explained the improvements the club has made through investments, their plans for the future and what to expect as a member.My membership starts in a matter of days and I'm genuinely really excited to start progressing on my fitness goals at David Lloyd health club.

Lovely club with amazing facilities. Jayda showed me and my family around the club and was very informative and insightful and did everything to get us off to the perfect start. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is great!

Male changing room / showers / they cover the damage on the floor with the bench and its been like this for years, you can?t even lock the toilet door, NO toilet flush! Dust and dirt everywhere.They call this a premium gym! how disgusting is this?? how can we in 2023 live for this! And pay high membership fees!Place smells like a farm!They had loads of new managers over the years than you and I had breakfast, every time they have a new manager, place gets worse, the staffs are rude and act like school kids, the Personal Trainers are NOT experienced at all! They rather talk about Eastenders than teach!AVOID THIS PLACE GUYS

Broken wall, broken mirrors, dirty/dusty floor, soon as you touch something, you have dirt all over your hands, don't think the cleaners have experience in cleaning! especially after Covid!Honestly speaking this gym really needs a new management! they should be ashamed!!I will never go there again, even the Council gyms are way better than this!

David Lloyd is an amazing place to meet your goals and meet friendly and supportive people. It has a great atmosphere and all staff are helpful and kind! The gym, group classes and pool are my go to places and I am never disappointed.I'm just upset it's not open later!

I visited the gym to enquire about membership, right from meeting the staff on the desk I had a positive experience. The sales manager took time to listen to what I wanted and supported me to get the right membership.The gym and pool areas are always very clean and staff on hand to answer any queries. Booking classes on the app is easy and there is lots of other information on there.My favourite has to be the outside pool!! Will defiantly be utilising that.Would recommend this club especially for people like me who are not frequently gym users this club defiantly has something for everyone!!

Enjoyed my 14-day trial and then decided to become a member . I love attending usually 4 or 5 times a week, and the staff are mostly really friendly and welcoming. I think the gym equipment is good and the atmosphere is mostly relaxing... I spend hours here!However, some of the clientele cause the spa area not to be relaxing . The cleanliness in that area could be improved also. For £100 a month, I expect it to be emaculate.I also feel that repairs take too long. For the amount of money they are making from people, you would think there would be more speed and emphasis on quicker repairsI'm hoping this improves in the future as I do enjoy attending
