We were greeted by a lady who would have looked more at home at the local bingo hall a smile never crossed her face.... the tables were full of half eaten meals no-one had cleared them. I had to ask for them to be cleared. The carvery was cold no-one had cleaned around the carvery area so cauliflower carrot ? and peas were all-over...What a shame. This was at the bowsaw dronfield...

My aunt sent a letter of complaint about the food on Christmas day in the Robin's Nest (edinburgh) as she got nowhere with the manager, they haven't even had the decency to reply appalling for such a big company.

MAB shares; it's no wonder why their shares are worth only half that of pre pandemic valuesHarvester is going down hill quickly and following their sister companies like Toby, Stonemill, Sizzling and VintageOne of the key points for a Harvester breakfast over other dine in locations was the option for a buffet style continental breakfast (which was stopped during COVID to never return with things like free toast and free juice) and the other was the willingness for any meal customisation was always accepting, this is now not the case and you can either have the meal as it comes or nothing at all.And yet after a recent menu change, I find myself sat here with my family while they eat and I have nothing because changes to the menu are no longer allowed, possibly because the chefs are either robots, unable to change their programmings or more likely, shareholders don't like their customers and will likely fall by the wayside in the near future with overpriced juice and an inability to cater for the customer, so if you see a menu item but 50% you wouldn't actively choose eat, your either paying for it and wasting food or like myself, refusing to eat while staring at the competition across the road waiting for your children to finish eating (if it wasn't for the children I would have walked out the door, but as any parent knows, attempting to move hangry kids after entering a restaurant is not something you do lightly)Maybe the company may survive the change, but I would think their core returning customers will slowly fade away for other alternatives (definitely not Toby carvery as the food is always terrible and prepared by unskilled chefs, and Stonemill ??? that chain must be on the verge of bankruptcy) all similar I guess how ToysRus faded into administration because they too also kept driving prices while forgetting what made them popular in the first place (like meal customisation, free juice, free toast and free cereal.)If you want any of those things, juice is now £2 a glass, toast £1.50 for two slices and cereal £2.50 a bowl, and when you have children who as children are, picky, then these made the difference over choosing harvester to their rivals, a family oriented USP they have now lost as it costs cash strapped families 25-35% more for a breakfast for the hidden extras will only serve to push families away when they realise these facts also.Sad to say, after 15+ years of repeat business, I won't be returning in the future and unlikely to visit any of the Mitchell's brandsRated;Food as zero* due to not eatingService as 1* as no customized meal choices can be made

Went for a carvery at Trent port Gainsborough The food was disgusting and while we were there there was someone behind the bar with a snake when asked about it they told us that the people who live in the flat above had quite a lot of snakes is this normal practise is it legal for this to be happening

Ok, just been for a carvery at the Toby at Shawbirch Telford. Asked for some of the skin off the turkey, and was refused because of Health and Safety rules saying that turkey skin is a choking hazard!! JUST WHAT BALLOON HEAD DID THE RISK ASSEMENT FOR THAT!

UNFIT FOR PURPOSE. This chain of pubs and general average style hotels is simply not performing operations well. Staff are untrained, incompetent and clueless. The Colney Fox, another disaster is indicative of the pattern of complaints encompassing this affected chain.

what a joke this firm is. I've been to 3 of there pubs tonight first on was the woodcock at Leeds sizzler pub. They shut there kitchen at 7pm cause of staff shortage. Then went to the wrose bull another sizzler pub. They had stopped serving food at 6pm. Cause of kichen staff shortage again. Then to top it off I went to there toby carvery at rooley lane Bradford. It was quite. Stood waiting ten minutes to be seen for a table no staff about at all. when we finally got seen. The manger told me they was no food it will be 1 hour wait this was at 8pm. The manager told me the chief just stopped preparing food. That's why they was non left. It seems Mitchell's and butler's are cutting corners after covid and not staffing up. Why would a chief just stop preparing food. and the woodcock kitchen is closed 2 days in week cause of staff shortage. Start paying people good wages you will good staff. Absolute joke

Management seems to be unaware of the passing of the Abolition of the slavery Act.My teenage daughter was invited to an interview for a bar job at the Font. She passed the interview and was offered a trial shift. she was told the trial would be unpaid, and made to sign a disclaimer on the pub's own computer, without being given a copy herself. She thought the trial went well, she got on with everyone, and she waited to hear back from management. And she waited And waited. After a week or so she wrote politely to the pub's recruitment email to say how much she enjoyed her trial, and that she understood if they didn't find her suitable, but to please let her know either way, Then she waited, And waited. She is still waiting.Neglecting to contact an unsuccessful applicant for a job, who has given hours of labour to assist your business, is indicative of a management that doesn't run trial shifts as a legitimate procurement practice.Knowingly exploiting the labour of young, vulnerable people looking to work hard to get on is despicable and disgraceful. This establishment should be given a red flag, a wide berth and a fine by HMRC.
