The room had quite bad moisture/mould issues but aside from that was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and welcoming and location is great - multi-storey carpark nearby is sensibly priced, trams to city centre stop practically outside, not unreasonable walk to catch a train to Cadbury world (although that was a disappointment) and decent deliveroo options. Not bad for the price

Staying at Travelodge Birmingham Central was a pleasant surprise. The location was convenient, and the room came at a reasonable price. What stood out was the layout of the room, almost resembling a mini-suite with two connected rooms. However, I couldn't help but notice that the space felt a bit bare. Perhaps a bit more furnishing would have made it cosier.Despite the spacious layout, the bedroom area seemed a tad dark due to a small wall between the rooms. While this was a minor inconvenience, it didn't overshadow the overall positive experience of my stay. With a few enhancements, this Travelodge could become even more inviting for guests seeking comfort and convenience in Birmingham.

The location is convenient for the city centre and we use it as a base for an evening exploring local boozers. The rooms are clean and tidy, though in need of an update and the staff are friendly, if a little slow to deal with successive customers. My friend had to return to the lobby to renew his room access card as it hadn't been programmed correctly. Not a big deal really, but additional unnecessary hassle.

Large rooms. Comfortable but basic. Fixed high shower head, non moving but with bathtub. High pressure and hot water. It's a basic Travelodge with no breakfast except a packed to go box. No non dairy options. Plenty of nearby pubs if you want a cooked breakfast and small supermarkets nearby too. Basic, cheap, as expected.Rooms: Large. Basic. Bathtub. Shower.Food & drinks: 2 vending machines. Useless breakfast options. Plenty of nearby places to eat or get breakfast within 5 min walk

Safety: It is generally a safe area, however, we were warned that there are a lot of homeless people around the area. Another thing is that the hotel is located on a busy street; buses and trams pass in front of the hotel.Food & drinks: There are tons of options when it comes with food and drinks. Dixy's (fastfood) is just a few steps out of the hotel.. Five guys, Nando's and other restaurants (Indian, Persian, Turkish etc) are just around the corner.. there are multiple pubs close by.. In front of the hotel is a Sainsbury local.Noteworthy details: If you're someone who can't sleep well even with just low noise, this place is not for you. Also note that the rooms come with an electric kettle and the tea/coffee are replenished daily, but there is no personal refrigerator or microwave in the room. I'm not sure about the VIP rooms though.

Hotel fine but reception miserable, then again I would having to deal with all the drunks on that street

Remarkably friendly and helpful receptionist who made me feel welcome and valued. Everything worked fine and the room was spotless. A little noisy from the street noise, but that's to be expected right in the middle of a vibrant city. Very convenient for the ICC and places to eat. Will definitely return.

What a terrible service the boys lied that I booked for Sunday they knew I came from Luton and sent me home. I wasted £33 of my booking to stay in Birmingham for a night until I can go home in morning safely as I was tired. Never again to Birmingham.

I've been to a few Travelodges and usually because I've left booking til the last minute. Although they are often the cheapest in such situations, I'm aware I could get better for less. The decor is tired and their colour scheme uninspiring, if not depressing, though I realise it could be a personal thing. The chain appears to be miles behind others such as Premier Inn which I'm guessing they'd view as their main competitor in this league. There were no power points next to the bed, which is where you need them. For some strange reason there's also confusion created by the use of the word "Central' in the title of a couple of the branches in Birmingham which causes confusion and had me walking 15 minutes to the wrong one. Also, very oddly, I could not get Google Maps to help with locating the right one. It all seemed geared around making a booking with the chain rather than getting me to where I needed, which was a first for me.

Fantastic location right in the heart of Brum. Clean and fresh rooms, staff were helpful and courteous. The only negative was the noise from boy racers in the early hours but that's hardly the fault of Travelodge!

not a bad hotel, can be on the pricey side for special events/holidays etc. Rooms clean, beds comfy but can be a bit on the noisy side as it's in middle of city but to be
