Sullen unhelpful staff. Apart from the cheerful lady on customer service who arranged my appointment. The lady adviser who I spoke to seemed annoyed that I wanted to consult her in an office due to my deafness when there is background noise. She seemed to be disinterestedand unhelpful as was her male colleague. Incredibly she described an interest rate of four point ten percent. What? Who trains these people? Also nobody I spoke to wore name badges or introduced themselves. Previous advisers were brilliant, friendly and helpful. Wouldn?t pay these in washers. I?m off to find another bank with professional considerate staff.Ed.

I placed an order online for a spa service that the Coventry-based spa in question was later unable to provide. The same spa refused, at first, to refund me, so I went into the Coventry branch of Nationwide to report them and ask the bank to recover the money.Immediately, I was told that I could do that online or that the cashier could call a number and I could speak to someone myself about the issue.I informed the teller that I had come into branch so that they (the experts in dealing with these things and, I assumed, with a direct line to the right department) could deal with it promptly and properly.I was then told that the payment had to be taken from my account before it could be reported, as it couldn?t be blocked or cancelled. I agreed to return on the basis that I would get the help I needed from branch staff. The cashier agreed.I returned to the same branch a few days later and explained my issue all over again. This time, a member of staff had to ask her manager how to access a phone directory to find the number in order to call the department that could investigate. I was then handed a phone(?!) and a number to call and had to stand there in the middle of a busy branch discussing my personal financial business with whoever was on the other end of the line.1. When I go into a bank, I expect the staff there to be professionals who know how to handle these matters competently. I'm fully aware that there's a website, but I want REAL SERVICE from REAL PEOPLE!2. I DO NOT appreciate being handed a phone and told to call a number so I can go through the nightmare of phone/internet banking with AN AUDIENCE!3. When I?m standing in the queue, I DO NOT want to be questioned, in front of everyone else, as to why I?m there, just to be told I can do it online, at home. I do not have a smartphone or ?the app?, nor will I ever. I don?t want to be tracked, spied on, or pounded with radiation and given brain tumours just to make life more convenient for a bank!YOU ARE THE MOST HATED INSTITUTIONS ON THE PLANET. And this is just a few reasons why.

Lou was very friendly, helpful and informative. She noticed my mum holding a brochure and came up to help us. She also helped me on the phone a couple days later when i had a question.

My own experience at nationwide building society Coventry branch,Their customer service is excellent, always a quick service and problem or anything gets dealt with in a very professional manner and all staff are brilliant and experienced, I would recommend this place if you are looking for a brilliant service and experience.

The best banking experience! Went above and beyond to help me at short notice! Were extremely thorough and let me know what was going on at every step. Patient and caring staff. I promise not to have such complicated transactions next time I come in!!!

Absolutely appalling service! Staff are rude, completely dismissed me and my daughter after we were waiting for near enough half hour. All to busy chit chatting. Lady who worked there asked people behind me in the queue of they needed help but completely ignored me and my daughter. The man behind her said it?s me she should be talking to. To which she laughed n walked off. As a result I?m closing my account with nationwide
