“I stayed here with my mother as we were attending a concert at Villa Park on 16th June 2023. We had originally booked a hotel nearer to the venue but that hotel cancelled less than a week before so we panic booked this hotel as it was cheap and a 15 min drive from Villa Park. I did not check any reviews prior to bookings. I paid in full and then later checked reviews and it made me very worried. However we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel front could do with a little TLC but there was ample parking at the hotel which is free, as long as you put your registration number into the table on the reception desk. I was pointed straight to this upon check in. The lady on reception was friendly and helpful. We were told our room was on the 3rd floor and of course the lift is broken so it was a long wall with our cases. The room was clean and fine for us. The bed was comfortable and big. There was a large TV and a fan on the wall. There was even a fridge/freezer in the room so we could keep our food chilled for when we got back. The bathroom was clean. We saw a lot of staff throughout our stay and there seemed to constantly be cleaners cleaning the rooms. The gentleman on reception at check out was very friendly. On a poster in reception was the name of a local taxi firm, Ablewell Taxis, who were very efficient and professional. I would definitely recommend them if you are to stay here and need a taxi. I would say don't let the bad reviews put you off. It was a clean room and for only £60, we have no complaints. Could just do with a little freshening up.”
